Good Morning 30's!

I woke up this a.m. to the thought that in Mary's list of rules Rule #4 (No meeting New Friends) breaks rule #3 (No Harshing the Buzz) and thereby renders the complete list Null and Void. So there B. Neener Neener Neener.

There was something else I was going to say but it's far too early and I haven't had a drop of coffee yet.

I get to go to the Healthy Living Center today after work and work out!! whee!

later people. happy trails.

Good morning, guys. Ugh. I've been feeling quite run down lately. Wow, if it's like this before the baby arrives, what am I gonna be like in the first few weeks after??

Voodoo, once again, sorry to hear your terrible news from yesterday.

Well, if I've got some good personal news, it's that most of my runs lately have been relatively fast, and I have dropped my overall average pace for the year down to 8:59. That's for 1042 miles. In 2006, my average pace was 9:20 for 1202 miles. I'm pleased with that improvemnt in one year. We'll see how it stands at the end of the year.

Umm, well enough for now...

Okay, coffee's done and I am ready to think. I've been up since 5am, couldn't sleep. Now that just sucks!

Anyway, katholeenie, you are beautiful btw. Love the pic. The hat is cute. Can you shrink it in the wash at all?
Scratch, hubba hubba. Um, nice pipes.
BigG, I completely agree with you, Mary's rules are no longer valid.
Bob, you'll be fine. Just imagine how your wife must feel. The end is the absolute worst part of pregnancy.

3.5 last night. 1/2 mi w/u @ 9:14 pace, 7:52, 7:54, 8:54 incl c/d. That is pretty speedy for me. No soreness today either.

Bob, Yup, you will get tireder when the baby comes, but you can handle it. Something biological about parenting replaces several hours of sleep I think.

Jill, me posting b4 there are 5 pages is probably a first too.

BigG, have fun at the gym. I'm thinking of joining the gym in my building, but there is not a lot there (no pool, no spa, just some cardio machines and some wights) but it is convenient and they do have showers so I can get in a lunchtime run or start weight training.

Hi to anyone else that comes in later. Work is teh suck lately and not leaving much time for dropping here to say hi to my imaginary friends.

MaryMcT, what about meeting the new friends before the drinking starts? Does that break rule #4?

Gotta run and get to swimming. Later kidz.

Great News BOB maybe being a father will make you fast. maybe this is pacer's secret....

King of Hawaii is Mister Soul.... He doesn't have a crown so he wears a bowl...

Katholeenie!!!! Love it love it love it.

Duckie has a cute kiddo

Kriiiiiis I don't have a weird schedule.....

OODY Oh. I thought it was a kind of a feminist-don't call me mrs- i don't have the same last name-you don't own me- sort of thing. You mean like time wise. I'm pretty lucky in that respect. Granted its easier I'm sure because we don't have kids. We have a lot of friends and are super blessed in that area. EVERYONE likes mat. When he makes friends eventually they become my friends, and visa versa. He goes with his friends and if I can make it even better and again...visa versa. Even when I went snowboarding in WV I asked him and his response was something like, "is there going to be someone I can drink and watch movies with in the lodge or are you all going out? You mind if I stay here?" We talk about our schedules daily and weekly to coordinate things. Tonight, he was going to work a b-ball game at his school. My best friend from high school's dad is in Cleveland and wants to meet me half way (at the VOO park). I asked if he could get someone to cover and go with me. He wasn't sure but said he'd try. He did and its cool. If he didn't.....I know he tried. He's not as active as I am so we also talked that out. I go without him sometimes. I have been really tired this year and not wanted to go 'out' as much as usual. I go with him and we don't stay as long. Eh. We talk. We do as much of each other's stuff as we can... It works.

It's definately tough work for those first few weeks/months... but after a while just when you thought you'd go insane, the baby will sleep thru the night (that's a relative term)... I remember our first night of uninterrupted sleep, he slept from around 11PM until around 4:30AM - That was a real treat! As the weeks past, he made it from 10PM - 5AM, and the first time he slept until 6AM, DW woke up freaking out, thinking something had to be wrong. Nope, just a tired baby

You'll adjust fine. If I adjusted anyone can You might find that your running schedule becomes very erratic... I ran at all hours back then. I even ran a 5k on almost 0 sleep just a few days after we got home from the hospital, and at the time it was a PR. There is just something about running on pure adrenaline it must be what the Ultra guys/gals feel like

Ugh. Stiff neck, stiff back, and I tossed and turned last night. 6am came much too early this morning and it was dark when I woke up. Ugh.

Tap tonight. I'd thought about hitting the gym beforehand, but DH has the car today and I won't be able to get there before class. I'm not even sure I'm gonna get to class on time. I really need to sign up for Zipcar.

I am starving. I need to go forage. I hate foraging at work...there's nothing good. We're sorely lacking in nuts and berries.

Mandy, your Mat is a lucky man, and you are a lucky woman. (((Mandy))) just cuz.

Anyone watching Reaper? Funny show...I'm enjoying it.

I have a real running/training q: I am running the half at Philly. Running is a term used loosely. Due to circumstances, I've not been running much. I don't mind walking some, but I need to get training again, and it's gonna have to start next week. I've decided trying to train with the play is just unrealistic and this week is nearly over. And the play closes this weekend. So, Pacer, Baggs, Trevor, anyone else, can you help me figure out a way to get to a point of being able to run at least 8 miles before Philly when I can run about 2-3 now? I'm realistic in that I'm not going to run all of Philly. I also know that running more than 3-4 times a week is out. I need recovery time. So, suggestions??? I know I suck...but I need help.

Thanks!

Moe

Good Morning
{{{Voo}}} cancer sucks. My son is named after someone who died of lukemia at the age of 18. I never knew him, he was a cousin of my husbands. Not sure why I just typed that.....

Katholeenie great smile. I am teaching myself to knit. The hat is great! You are very talented

Bob the first few weeks, months after the baby is born will go by in a blurr. Mostly because you are too damn tired to function. It will get better. Just when you relax they will turn 2.... That is a story for another day. How is Maggie feeling?

Okay, go Phillies!

Maybe or maybe not interesting, I have no red clothing items to wear. Maybe I should have worn the Phillies baseball cap.

It was weird taking the photos last evening. I still think of myself as being very very skinny, because that's the way I always was when growing up, the small skinny kid. I'm still skinny but not as skinny now. It's weird seeing the latissimus dorsi muscles sticking out from the sides some now.

Anyhow, took 2 days off from running, going to run after work this afternoon. I'll try not to think too much about how the Phillies will be playing while I'm running.

Good morning.
Big storm blew through last night... I know this because we sleep with the windows open and KP had to close the house up at 2:30am! So, I woke up with a headache and NO desire to go to work.

Katholeenie - You are my hero! So talented. I have taught myself to knit, but I can only do a simple roll brim hat.

G'mornin'. Still dark here. I am not awake.

I'm shuffling my schedule around this week to accommodate the Dbacks-Cubs game tonight and my race this weekend. I'm doing an abbreviated LR w/some tempo this morning, then taking the day off from school so I can get a bunch of errands done, and hopefully grab a nap so I can drive safely back from Phoenix tonight after 10. Yeah, I'm old.

Moe, I caught Reaper last week. I definitely enjoyed it. Much funnier than I expected.

I know there was more, but I'm not even partly coherent yet. Good days to runs to all.

If I were only trying to get to a long run of 8 miles with 3 days of running, I might do the following.

Week 1 - 2,2,4
Week 2 - 2,3,5
Week 3 - 3,3,4
Week 4 - 3,3,6
Week 5 - 3,4,8
Week 6 - 4,4,6
Week 7 - 2,2, Half-Marathon

Believe me, my training for the Philly full is going to be pretty ugly at this point...
