Mornin'!

Jen- Nice workout, I like that song "We Didn't Start The Fire" video of his.
Richard- Have a nice walk/workout later
Alex- Good luck with all the work!

I got Ag Econ, Accounting, and Microbio Lab today and then I'll get out for a run around 4. The weathers supposed to turn nasty (snow, sleet, rain) around 6pm today. Its 19* outside and the wind is just a blowin'!

Have a good day and good runs/workouts ya'll.

Jen, you are an early bird!
RaichardC and Megs - have good runs later.

I did 6 miles at the butt-crack of dawn this morning. Temp was a nice 14 degrees. As it got lighter out, the snow on the trees was so beautiful. I love winter. Hardest part about the run were that my legs were tired from late night hockey, and I had a slight hangover from the post-hockey beer.

Sounds like fun Jen

Alex, Megs- hope you get through all that school work ok. Definitely one thing I don't miss about college.

Get some rest Richard.

Arrojo- sounds like a nice run. I never understood people who like Winter though. I like not having to wear multiple layers just to run, but that's just me...

Well, the workout went kind of as expected yesterday. I did my last Hadd test 7 weeks ago, and had a crappy December where I only averaged like 25 miles per week, then a couple of really good weeks in January where I've been doing around 65 mpw. (I just realized last night that I've already done more miles in January '08 than I did in Jan and Feb '07 combined).

The results whent like this:
Test: 140 150 160 170 180
1 11/27/07 11:54 8:54 7:54 7:24 6:45
2 1/15/08 9:57 8:49 8:01 7:19 6:45
I had expected a big improvement at the low end since that's where I spent most of my time the last few weeks. I was pleasantly suprised by the last of regression in the highest heart rates since I haven't spent any time there. Gives me hope that I can spend the next six weeks no faster than 160 bpm and still not loose any speed. 170 is supposed to correspond to Marathon pace for me, so I need a little work there but I've got lots of time. Let's see what 420 miles over the next 6 weeks does to these numbers.
Ok, enough data for today, hope everyone who's running tonight has good runs. Looks like 10 again for me tonight.

Good morning all.

Jen - Nice early workout this morning.

Richard and Megs - Have a good run later. Hopefully the weather will hold off for you.

Alex - Have a great day. Don't forget to take some time off to run.

Arrojo - Great job on the run this morning.

I had a good workout this morning. Started out with some combat focused training.

1st Circuit consisted of upper body and abs - two revolutions
2nd Circuit consisted of body armor and ballistic helmet. Workout went like this. 25 ft rope climb, 100 meter 200 lb manican drag, 25 ft ladder climb, climb over a 10 ft wall.
3rd Circuit without body armor, same as above, substituded 10 ft wall for buddy carry 50 meters,
4th Circuit same as above except substituted buddy carry with 10 pull-ups.

It was pretty good workout, then I decided to go for a 5 mile run @ just under 8 mpm pace. Felt good. Planning on a bike ride a lunch if the weather holds.

Happy training all.

me-another off day, not sure how the knee feels today or hip. feel fine now, but i haven't done much to see if it's twinged. i go to the doctors tomorrow for the infection I had, as a little check up. I'm either running tomorrow if I think I can or may just ask him what's up. I'm itching to get out there. at this rate i'll get to run friday when it snows and sleets and than sunday when it's in single digits ha, i'll take it.

Alex - senior year...gotta love it. Any prospects on colleges yet?

xcrunner - hope you get to run tomorrow.

Tonya- not what I ultimately want, but kind of what I expected give the first 5 weeks since the last test were so weak. If I don't see some significant improvements after teh next 6 weeks of solid training, I'll have to re-evaluate a little. And if you really want snow, next time we get it here, you can come and take all of it that you want.

Ouch Grizzly- hope it's not too bad.

XCrunner- good luck if you try to test it again Even if you're feeling good, come back light. No sense in tempting things..

Richard - Felt the same when I woke but the run helped.

Alex - Ok, so now were a waste of time

Mailbox - What's your max HR?

Dave - Now that's an interesting workout. Sounds, well, killer!

Grizzly - Hope it's not serious

3 miles for me and then 30 min on the stationary bike. Back's a little stiff this morning. No pain though.

Grizzly--OUCH!!!

Rushed for time this morning. I've read all the posts. Don't have time to comment on all, though... There just are not enough hours in the day anymore! Giving a spelling test as I post. Makes life interesting!

2600 in the fishbowl. 1:05:56. Slight improvement over last week. But I'm still slow. Painfully slow...

Then change for a run. Here's the interesting part. I wear a tri top as a base layer. I got a new one the other day and thought I'd try it out this morning. Mind you, I never tried it on... I got stuck putting it on! Finally got it on, but realized that what goes on must come off.

Run was a dud. I was totally drained from the swim. Just kept it a steady. At one point I got stopped by a light. And it felt good to stop. Yah, one of htose runs. I opted to cut the run short. I was afraid I'd end up walking, and it's too cold to walk today. Decent numbers, but I could have done better. 3.8m, 33:33, 8:46pace

And what went on did have to come off. It was no easier getting a wet shirt off than it was putting a dry shirt on a wet body. My friends laughed at the contortions I went through to get that stupid shirt off!

btw--spelling test 24/29, 82%

I found you, I found you! I had to search through a few coolrunning posts to find this site, but here I am!

Well, after a holiday season of runs here and there, I'm back on track - preparing for the Tacoma Marathon in May. It's good to be back!

I've seen it around 210, but I haven't tried to actually max out. I felt pretty comfortable at 170. Just judging from last night, I can probably hold 190-195 long enough to finish a 5k. I'm thinking about wearing the monitor for my race in March to get some feedback after the fact.
