Ran/walked 3.5 yesterday...part of it on the cold and lonely beach. I saw a dead sand shark being dragged by a gull...not something I've ever seen on a run before.

Tonight I have tap. That's XT in the Moe learns to run better training.

had an unscheduled rest day yesterday. Had a great run on Monday night, and my achilles was more sore (sorer??? Is that a word?) than it has been in a while. So - R.I.C.E. last night, after I made dinner for everyone, etc. Have 3 on tap for tonite. Can't wait.

Good morning!

Ran 6 miles in wet, slushy snow. When I got home my legs were totally covered in salt/sand from the roads. Felt good, though!

DH bought me a new pair of Sauconys - Trigon 5 Rides. Anyone else wear these? I love them, but it seems like the 5s only last about two months before I start getting those aches and pains that tell me I need new shoes. I normally got 3-4 months out of the Trigon 4s and 3s. My mileage has been consistently 30-40 MPW for the last few years so it's not related to increased mileage.

Have a great day, everyone!

Got in 1000 meters in the pool last night. Between that and the weights from Sunday, I may not be able to lift my arms

I just got a pair a couple months ago of the Trigon 4 Guide and I feel like they're wearing out faster than other shoes I've had, but I have no experience with the 5s, will probably try to get some more 4s online.

I did 45 minutes on the FitStrider and 30 minutes on the elliptical. I was supposed to do 15 more minutes of cardio today, but this coughing man started working out next to me and I didn't want his germs, so I left.

5 chilly, windy miles last evening. plus some heavy lifting getting my Christmas decoration boxes out of the upstairs closet and carried downstairs.

4 on the game plan for later today.

Moe - I love the beach this time of year. Well, ok, I love the beach all times of the year, but to walk/run on it this time of year is cool...

and, GoV - I read through the posts too quickly -- I read that Moe was doing tap tonight, and then I read your post as, "I have tap tonight" instead of "I have 3 on tap" ... I thought, GoV's getting into tap, too?!

Well I "Night Rangered" it today. I got in a little "four in the morning". Ok I will leave that to the 80s children to comprehend.

Well I did something right this morning. After being so pressed for time yesterday running 3 miles I was worried about the time factor today. I altered one or two things and when I got home it was 12 minutes earlier than yesterday! Good for me. A nice run although I did feel I was going to run out of gas at the 3 mile mark. Maybe due to a number of factors: 1st mile pace might have been to fast (accidentally), ran 3 just yesterday, etc. Either way I chugged on to the finish line. I was most pleased to return home at the time I did.

Rookie question: ok I wore my new hood today. I felt good with my ears, throat and neck covered. Yet when I was finished and took it off my head was sweating a good bit. Now my question is....... is that ok? Do you want to be sweating at the end of a 38 degree temperature so run? Now I felt fine. I didn't feel hot nor cold. Is that the main thing to achieve- feeling an even body temp? Or do you think I should wait to add something like the hood or toboggan on my head until it's much colder rather than have your head sweat when it's in the 30s? I was just curious about that on the drive home.

Anywho...... have a great day working out and running.

Maples - you're going to sweat. It is ok. What you want is to be comfortable while sweating/working out in the cold. Tonya comments all the time when I come in from winter runs that I have frost on my hat. No biggie what so ever.

Nothing else to report here beside my first trip to the dentist in quite a long time (bad I know) today.

Feel better boB!!! here, want a tissue?

I read this in a Friday frame of mind....sorry.

Maple: What's the problem? Sweat is good. Are you worried you will catch a cold? If so, when you are done your workout either don't take the hood off or get inside. And I don't know what a toboggan is in your neck of the woods but where I come from it's the wooden sled you ride down the hill screaming at the top of your lungs. I had an awful time picturing that on your head...

Morning! I thought we might have a snow day here but school started on time. Of course, several folks I work with work from home on Wed so I'm pretty much the only one here in the office right now. And THAT means a longer lunch run (hopefully!)!

Moe What beach are you on? If it's warm, I reserve the right to despise you for a few days.

PTom Did you ever get your treadmill figured out?
