OK, I'll start off today since it's my first day back since the Shamrock Marathon this past Sunday...

6.13 miles of hills @ 9:32 pace...easy recovery run this morning.

Good runs to all today.

10 miles of hills this morning @ 8:04 pace. Cool and windy this morning.

Had a strange ran last night. It rained dust and mud all over cars and homes. Nasty stuff.

Nice recovery run Peter. You sure had an excellent race last weekend.

Good to see you checking in Todd......hope you do make yourself a regular. Good run this morning.

I'm an evening runner, but I like to check and see who is running with the crowing roosters. The wind is sure wailing outside and heavy rain is due by the middle of the day. Hope it's not too heavy. I could melt.

Opie sure looks lonely on the Intrepid race calendar for this week. I could have sworm Wick said he was running something this weekend. Maybe he just mentioned the possibility in the daily a while back. Good luck in Texas Opie, and you too Wick if you are running. Anybody else racing this weekend?

TripleJ......I was looking at fall races this morning, and noticed a brand new event not so far from you. Have you ever run at New River? Fries? *that's pronounced freeze for you non-southern types* ....and it's a place....not french food.

Good running to the rest of you.

tom and Pie, my new second favorite college basketball team is now Tennessee (replacing Ohio State from last year, and Florida from two years ago). They're the team I ended up buying in my company's annual NCAA Tournament auction. Go Vols!

Rest day. It will make my knees happy.

Intervals (just 4x200) with The Administrators this morning. My legs are sore & unhappy. Tomorrow no running for me!

Kept my clothes in my backpack on the run home yesterday.
Thanks for the reminder about ice cream, Dave!
I am in so much trouble on that thread!

Good Morning Kicksters,

32 degrees with light snow/sleet coming down. But it was kinda nice. The pavement was just wet, not slick. Got in 10 miles feeling very comfortable, peaceful. 1:23:50 (8:22 pace).

Now I have to go find Pete's RR...

Morning, usually get to start Wednesday but was in a rush to hit Dr's for bloodwork after my 3 miles on the treadmill. I was going to skip it and sleep in but ended up only sleeping an extra 40 minutes. Since I couldn't have coffee I figured may as well go run.

Off to find Peter's RR!

Hi Todd, post more often k?

Pie, that New River Trail 50k is news to me, but very interesting.
Since my goal race for the year is Mt Masochist 50M on 11/1, and this is a non-technical 50k about 3 weeks out,
it makes for a good last long training run. Some of the Iron Mt group may want to do this.
I think it's a rail trail, so it should be fast, a good intro to the distance.
Annette, the RD, ran with us last Sat, but had to leave before we gathered and ate.
It will be a beautiful run given the time and locale.

What are you thinking?
Want to run it?
Anybody else?
Thanks for starting, Peter. Enjoy your recovery.
Welcome, Todd.
ks, the long-range forecast for your area calls for hail mixed with fire, followed by a plague of locusts.
jjchaney, sweeeeet run. Looking great for Boston--what's your time goal?

10 shake-out miles this morning after last night's 200s and hill repeats. First 4 at 8:00 pace, last 6 around 7:35, for a 7:46 overall average.

Then a variety of core stuff, which I am becoming convinced is essential not only for better performance but for injury prevention. I feel so much more solid on my feet late in a run since I started doing side planks and ab exercises consistently. This one of the top two contributions that SS has made to my training, along with Denman Island chocolate. (Sorry Econo.)

AA - great run. Just as long as the river doesn't turn to blood; I'll be ok.

We had the same rain in Houston! I was trying to figure that out today, and wondered if maybe there was a big bunch of dust that got blown in after the rain. I noticed it all over the cars in our neighborhood, and on some in the parking lot at work that must have been parked overnight.
