Well, let me just say, my birthday was, like last year, an epic failure. The man I've been dating, who's been my friend for 15 years, and I decided to call it off last night. I'm crushed, even though it was the right thing to do, and i was the one who finally said, take the time you need to figure everything out (he's getting divorced). I don't want to lose him all together, but I don't know what will happen to our friendship now. I was up most of the night tossing and turning.

And I never got my birthday sundae. In fact, I never even at supper. Now I just feel sick.

We have our all office retreat today. That's gonna suck too.

Good morning!

Good luck at your appointment today Beaker! Hope you find out everything you want to find out!

(((Moe))) I'm so sorry you're going through a tough time right now. I agree with what Beaker said. She is very wise.

Nothing much going on here. My sub assignment for the past few days has ended and, honestly, I'm relieved. I was working as a resource teacher, so I only had a few kids, but I did not have a behavior plan for the kids and it was tough! Luckily, I didn't feel too discouraged and I'll be back at that school on Friday, working with DD1's 1st grade teacher. Yay!

I"m heading to Pittsburgh at the end of the week. I'm so excited to see my family. I really need a change of scenery for a few days. Then we're heading to York so the kids can see some of their friends.

Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

((((((Maureen))))))) I'm so sorry. Beaker said it best and I'm not going to try and repeat. Just more big hugs to you.

Lori, exciting day!!!

Fun: Nothing yet, but I'm sure there's gonna be something!!

Funny: Yesterday I went to lunch with a friend to a salad place and I asked for balsamic viniagrette for my salad. I opened up the little container - labeled BV for balsamic viniagrette - and it looked like brown sludge. My friend looked across the table and exclaimed "OMIGOD Don't eat that! They might as well have labeled it BM!!" LMAO. Seriously could not regain my composure for at least 15 minutes.

Happy Wednesday - we're getting over the hump! Yahoo!

Fun: Another gorgeous, sunny day! I'm half considering thinking of an excuse to leave early today so I can enjoy the pool!

Many /hugs to ya, Maureen. Sounds like you made a tough decision, but one that needed to be made, nonetheless. Those are always the hardest ones to make.

Beakerbabe - can't wait to hear your news!

Sorta funny from yesterday: It was almost closing time at work. I had taken all my empty plastic bottles downstairs to put in the recycle bins. Well, the bin was overflowing, so I used a nearby box to make a new bin I was squatting on the floor to arrange everything, when all of a sudden in a kid-like voice, I hear "Hellllll-OOOO!" (Think of Joey from Friends, but in a much higher voice.) I turned around and it was one of my co-worker's 9 year old boys. /snicker. I just said "hi" back and he went along his merry way. Made me wonder where in the world he heard "Hello" said in THAT particular way!

(((Moe))) I think you need a do-over. And while I couldn't provide nearly quite the same type of company as a man-friend, if I lived closer I'd still take you out for that sundae.

I don't know if I've said anything here, but my brother is getting married in September and we're having his reception at my house. I have a lot of boring sorting and purging to do to get ready for it, but in the meantime I bought new bedding for our room. Any excuse for a shopping spree, right? http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/roomView.asp?SKU=122189

We have friends that planned that name for a boy, but had three girls. They all have completely normal traditional girl names.

Totally cute! I would absolutely put that on my bed. I'm going to paint one wall in my bedroom brown and the other three walls the blue in this comforter. I may have to get the details once I get the room painted.

Moe, sorry to hear your big day wasn't the best. I almost broke up with my then guy last year on my birthday but we limped along for another week or so before I finally pulled the plug. Not the best way to spend your day; hopefully today will be better.

String ensemble tonight. We are giving a recital for friends and family next week so this is our dress rehearsal. We're not very good, but we have a lot of fun.

I didn't go to SNB yesterday because I was in a funk, but I put the BBC Pride and Prejudice on and finished Donatello. Only Leonardo left. And all the filler, which will take forever. Still, it's nice to be making progress.

Have a good one!

Hoping the mini-Beaker is happy and healthy.

My middle child turns 11 today. He always has the crappiest birthdays. We moved on one of them (We have been in CT 6 years today), we have had power outages, my mom passed away just prior to one so we spent it at a post funeral dinner, we got stuck in Seattle when flights got canceled for another. (The last one kinda worked out OK).

I took today off of work, and we were all planning to go to Lake Compounce. Well, he sprained his ankle Monday. Plan B is mini golf and movies (going to see Inception), but still, it would be nice for him to have a normal birthday for once.

last night after work, DH and i went over to his cousin and fiancee's place for burgers on their roof top. it was a gorgeous night and they had some of their colleagues over.. all ER docs. lets just say that ER docs have some of the BEST stories. i was laughing really hard all night long. and the beer i had was delish!!!!

tonight is DH's summer office party. its black tie. at a country club. wtf. i'm refusing to wear anything black tie-ish and will likely sit by the bar the whole night. that'll get them talking :) nothing like spending an evening with a bunch of stiffies who'll likely want to molest my belly. (most of them are pretty nice but there are a few characters - i'm sure i'll come back with a few good stories).

School sports must be starting training here, because there were lots of shirtless boys (17-18ish) out running this morning when I was out.

So.... the kiln I fired Monday night only fixed a couple of the problems. I am so annoyed with this. But I don't have $2k to drop on a new kiln right now. Anyway, my SIL had to go to Cali unexpectedly this week, which means I have to drive my pots all the way to the gallery in Indiana, instead of half way. (I was going to take them to where she works, @ half way, and then she was going to drop them off for me.) ROAD TRIP! Before I can take off I need to shoot some pics and make some bcards to leave.

Happy Birthday, Little Litch

The wedding guest list was 70 when I agreed to have the reception. It grew a little. I'm choosing not to panic about that. We do have a nicely finished basement and a decent size yard. It will be fine.

Missy - have fun at the party:) I say anyone who touches the belly without asking gets an elbow to the face.
