morning all

I'm freezing my knockers off here at work.

I also need a quick 10$ secret santa gift.

I'm still hungry for meat balls.

Which part are you agreeing with Tonya?

I like cream cheese frosting, but the cake part is just blech. Tastes like all the food coloring that's been dumped in. It's a chocolate cake, right? Why can't it just be normal chocolate colored?

Red velvet cake is one of those things that can vary so much. I never understood what the fuss was about until I had a great one. It's DHs favorite, so I want to find a good recipe, but I'm afraid I'd make and eat too much if I did.

Just got back from the birthday celebration - I was relatively good at keeping most of my consumption to the fried Chinese broccoli with garlic (anyone wanna' kiss me? heh!) but still some of that stuff seemed ladled full of oil (especially that chow fun)

((((((KJ & Grayson)))))) I'm glad there's a plan of action at least - I'll be hoping for the best for all of you

Oh, QOD revision - lobster. I don't think I've ever had it anyway...I haven't purposely ordered it

KJ: You don't have to make excuses for breaking down in the shower. There isn't a single one of us here who wouldn't be crying in the shower when faced with the uncertainties of our child's health. Your body and your psyche probably needed to release a whole lot of anxiety and anger and stress. It is a healthy thing you have done. Don't worry about that. As for Greyson, Emerson, your hubby and you, you are in my prayers and that of others here. I'll be sending all my hopes your way this Monday. God Bless.

Ailarie: Yes. It is a Canadian thing. Up until very recently the only time I had ever seen or heard of Red Velvet Cake was in the movie Steel Magnolia's. It is only now coming around these here parts.

QOD: Red Velvet Cake. Snikerdoodles. Twinkies. I'd never tried a Butterfinger before but Eccabex fixed that a few years ago. Catfish. Prairie Oysters (hee hee hee). I'm French Canadian so I was bred on Split Pea Soup, although for a Soup lover, that IS NOT MY FAVORITE. I can't think of anything else.

I have a massive headache right now.

Did you eat everything right now? That would explain the headache...

((((KJ & Grayson)))) Lots of prayers and love sent your way!

I got super drunk with my grad students last night and had to catch a ride home. Then I had to catch a ride back to my car this morning. I think it's the closest I've ever come to a walk of shame, esp. since I ran into multiple colleagues when I came in without any kind of work bag. I felt really guilty, but I had so much fun last night, it was worth it. My students are great, and I needed some fun. Three double shot screwdrivers and 3 shots made for much fun.

QOD: Oh, there's too many to list. Most fish/seafood, brussels sprouts, eggnog, split pea soup. I also hate meatballs, but I'm not sure why that is. Maybe I'll have to give them another chance.

Lots of love to all!

KJ - the kids do not know that Christmas is supposed to be December 25th. When Grayson is home and well you can do Christmas the way you imagined. Emerson would even enjoy a mini-Christmas on the right day and a bigger one on the KJ-Family Christmas day... All positive thoughts and strength to you and your family today, tomorrow, Monday, and as many more days as needed.

I have a fever. A slight one, but a fever. Stupid head cold. I was miserable at work today, and my kids could tell how bad I felt. Perhaps the ten thousand sneezes gave it away. Still, I am having a hard time pulling the trigger to call for a sub tomorrow... I know I shouldn't go to work, but a) I took the day off last Friday and b) it's always an ordeal to have a sub.
