Swim was a struggle today, as I added strength training back into the routine yesterday. My shoulders, arms, chest, abs and lats were sore and tired during the swim. I felt like I couldn't get any pull.

Good morning all.

Another combat focus training event this morning. Started with uniform, boots and body armor. Did a 3 mile run followed by a 20 foot rope climb, 25 meter 200 lb skedco drag, 20 foot ladder climb, 100 meter sprint, and finally a 10 foot wall climb. all of this right at 30 minutes. It was fun.

Then I changed and headed out for a run. 6 miles including 4 x .25 mile hill repeats at a 6:22 pace. I am completely woreout not. Lunchtime ride scheduled for later, not sure of the distance. Probably right around 20 or so.

Have a good one all.

THose who sing or play can attest......
WHen the musicians find out 5 days before the performance what the piece is....they get cranky!!!

This crankiness is doubled when said musician has repeatedly asked for adequate prep time for certain complex pieces.

So.....
a little chocolate...
Lifting at the Y. I had planned on a little biking while there also with the new bikes but they had video problems so I bagged it. Just as well since we only had 10 skaters for hockey this morning. Started out 5 on 5 but then after about 15 minutes we changed to 4 on 4 with a sub. Very fast skate. Have a great day. the military workout would have done me in also

Morning like today's remind me that I really do like running in the early AM. 15F and a full moon providing plenty of light at the start, and a beautiful sunrise at the end. Truly a great way to start the day.

Five and a half miles at a relaxed 8:45 pace. This makes four days of exercise in a row and continued improvement in my sinuses.

Lots of swims this morning! Good workouts, everyone!

100m easy
100m easy

Had a HUGE breakthrough in the water today. I was swimming with a fellow triathlete today, who is a former competitive swimmer, and has almost 40 years of experience swimming (I know, 40 years!). She made one small change to my technique, and instead of madly trying to catch up to her, I was right on her feet the rest of the workout! I took (drumroll please) 15 seconds(!) off my 200m time. Wowza!

FIshbowl this morning. WU 300, MS T-pace 100, 200, 300, 400, 400, 300, 200, 100, CD 300. 1:06. Pushoffs were pretty wimpy because a good push off really bothers the road rash on my knee. Got home and went to upload data, only to find that coach had changed things around due to my shoulder injury, and I was only supposed to do a 35min swim. Ops!

In the middle of one of my sets, there was a guy crouched at my lane, wanting to talk with me. His wife works for Cheryl's Cookies and he brings in the 'day old' stuff, and he wanted to offer me one. On my flip I just said "in the middle!" and kept going. Felt bad about it, but hey! Later I did talk with him and explained that I was in the middle of a set. "So, you're really working out?" "Uh, yah?!?!?!"

Then, out for a run. 25* and SNOW!!! The big heavy snow flakes. And next to no wind. Life does not get any better!!! Time sucked, but I was having a blast out there!!! 4.55m, 41:34, 9:08pace
