I'll be happy to start us off this morning. 6 ezpz miles this morning after yesterday's day off. The moon was so large and bright this morning I thought it was going to land on the horizon. Beautiful.

Hi, KS. I noticed the moon last night when I put the kids to bed. It was awesome, through their bedroom window.

Rest day for me today, but everything feels good after yesterday's run. Perhaps I'll be able to go to 4 running days per week in October, after all...

Nice run, ksrunr. Isn't it great to get back to it after a day off?

Training = work + rest. Good job, Susan & Marie.

9 miles, 4x1200, 400 recovery. 2 miles with Puddinhead.

My goal for the 1200s was 4:55. What I ran was 4:59, 5:01, 5:03, 5:07. I felt good going into the workout, but was feeling some nausea by the 3rd repeat. I think 4:55s are beyond my current fitness.

Morning!

I tried to get Tory to howl at that moon last night but no go.
Very rarely, when he hears certain sirens and he's in the backyard he will get into that wolf position and do the howl, it is totally cool.

It was nice out this morning, only 60F and not so humid. My plan called for 9 mi with 5 x 100m intervals but I didn't want to risk hurting my foot since it's been doing so well (and I promised Choovie to take it easy this week after Saturday's 30K race). So it was tempo instead: 2.2 mi w/u with Tory then 5 mi @7:35 then 2 mi c/d. Foot felt great (whew).

Good morning friends,

Perch, I'm glad to hear you are treating your foot kindly after your big race. You've come too far to suffer a relapse

I feel so conflicted this morning. Stopped at the store on the way to work and purchased a dozen donuts and some Weight Watchers frozen entrees. The two just don't go together, do they?

Might run after work, might not. Only the toes knows (anyone ever watch that old series called Wise Guy starring Ken Wahl who was so totally hot? I liked the season with Kevin Spacey who was always saying that: "only the toes knows" ah, nevermind... that was probably 15 yrs ago)

Hi all, couldn't get here from home this AM. Anyway, it was nice out but I soon starting sweating. 3.2 not easy miles but it's done with. I slept till 6:20 much to the boss's disdain (my cat) Blew off the gym workout till tonight.

The weather for my century Saturday looks lovely, keeping fingers crossed it remains that way. 70's and SUN!!

That would be neat if you could get Tory to howl on cue. I kind of remember Ken Wahl but not that series and I definitely don't remember Spacey on TV, in fact the first I can recall him is in American Beauty.

I have that same sign and I place it over my monitor when I leave work! I love that sign.

My foot. Let's see, the wrap came off Monday night (not too smelly I might add!), and the foot felt really different. Not good, not bad, just different. I had an extremely busy day at work on Tuesday, which means I was on my feet for about 6 hours total. Definitely not the way I wanted to treat my foot for its first day of "freedom". The foot was hurting quite a bit when I went home, but it was a different pain; more a burning sensation, less a sharp stabbing pain like previously.

I went and worked out. 30 minutes bike at an average HR of 139, followed by 30 minutes of swimming (1100 meters). I got two really bad cramps while swimming; one in my right calf, and one in my left foot (where my PF is!). Ouch!!! I went home and iced and elevated the foot. Ahhh, that's better!

Today. The foot feels kinda okay. I should be able to rest it a little bit better while at work since I need to sit down and get caught up with admin stuff. Boring, but required.

I plan on doing 45 minutes of biking this evening.

Oops, gotta go...work crisis.

Hally, Spacey played a nutcase in charge of some massive criminal empire and Wahl was the Italian Stallion undercover agent. I was so hooked on that series. Okay, must stop fantasizing about Ken Wahl and Kevin Spacey.

Early morning yoga today, then biked to work. This was my first intermediate yoga class. I feel about 2" taller... but boy, oh, boy, is there ever room for improvement. Today's pretty chaotic, but I'll have to find 30 minutes for a little Z1 recovery jog some time after work. I burnt my lunchtime on the yoga class.

Good Morning!

No run for me today. It's my 9th wedding anniversary, so probably wouldn't go over well if I ditched dear husband this evening for a run .

Johnny - I stopped in at the new running store in town yesterday after work. nice store! They are still getting inventory in, but already the store is pretty full of merchandise. It's two families that own the store and they are runners. Nikkie has run several marathons and has her finishers medals displayed. They've added some nice personal touches to the store. Eventually, they want to have organized group runs that meet at the store on Saturday a.m.'s . Their grand opening still isn't for a few weeks yet. When you get a chance you should check it out. I know you want your loyalty to remain with Hal's store (as do I), but this store carries some items that I don't recall seeing at Hal's - so it's sort of like having the best of both worlds now in So. Oregon.

You know, I'm with millbot on the benefit of hotties working at running stores. Most of running stores in Portland have wannabe elite runners selling shoes, and you can tell they would rather be anywhere else but there. If they don't recognize you has someone as their caliber, they pretty much treat you with indifference. Since I pretty much already know what shoes will work for me, I would rather have some hot gal giving me the shoes to try on rather than some sullen running "expert".

One exception, there was one quasi-elite at Foot Traffic who did seem to actually care about making sure I got shoes that were correct for me. Of course, it was a woman, and she was hottie too!

Labduck, I hadn't put quite that much thought into it. Good point.

wow, Millbot not only has moderator powers, but now he can read our minds and put it in quotes too!

sheesh - some of you that don't really know me probably think I'm really stuck on my myself . . . I'm not hot, really I'm not. I'm a 40 yr old mom.

ETA: I had to come back and clarify my statement. It hasn't been sitting well with me. I'm NOT saying at all that moms, or older moms, aren't hot. This is just my perception of ME - not of anyone else - it's my own baggage and self-perception that crept out and not meant as a statement that covers all moms. But I can see how some might take offense to that and I don't want to offend. So, had to come back and clarify. I would just delete the whole thing, but it wouldn't do any good since Riley quoted me .
