Good Morning -

My daughter's 12 today (my youngest), only one year left before she's a teenager . Where does the time go?

Well, I've been struggling through my runs the last 2 weeks - heavy, leaden, sore legs . . . However, this morning felt a bit better - hooray! I was happy to finish 6 miles at an avg 7:51 pace followed by .5m cd.

An exciting weekend coming up with another master's relay!!!

Enjoy your day!

Happy bday to your daughter Pink. Time has a way of getting away; doesn't it? Nice run for you this morning. We could have ran together as I avg 7:51 for 10 moh. Finished with 6 X hill repeats hard and a short cool down for 85 minutes of running. Rained pretty good on us from mile 1 thru mile 4. It was appreciated.

Cool, I could have run with Pink and KS! (for my 4 tempo miles anyway!)

The plan today was for 10 miles with miles 6 through 9 at tempo pace (10K). But as I finished up mile 4, I saw two faster runners on the road and decided they'd help pull me along. So I ran up and caught them. One of them consistently runs 3:20 marathons and the other is probably 3:25 to 3:30.

We all ran the 1st tempo mile together. We sorta proved the old adage "2 train, 3 race" here. Then one of them went for water and wanted to add a few more miles. So now it's two of us. At the end of tempo mile 2 the other guy got to his subdivision said goodbye and turned off. So now I'm on my own for the last 2 tempo miles. But they had me moving so I kept at it.

10.1 miles at 8:46 pace with tempo miles 5, 6, 7, and 8 at 7:45, 7:44, 7:40, and 7:33 paces. One of the better tempo runs I've had in a long time. The weather wasn't too bad at 78° and 81% so that helped I suppose.

Sorry you encountered people on your run, Bill. It's a hazard I avoid at almost any cost.

45' easy with Reggie, who is now lying motionless and drooling on the floor, with the occasional heavy sigh

Nice runs Pink and Beeker and Botboy and CNY and KS!

Don't you wish you could lay down and nap and drool after a workout?

OK, well maybe not the drool part.

Working from home today, so I can do run and weights. I needed cash so I ran to the bank and back, then threw in laundry then down to the building gym for weights. Gotta beat the nanny down the hall to the washer.

Thinking seriously about VRAA as a mega badass. Need the motivation to get back into the morning routine, I have been getting up but not out some days.

Good morning, KickMasters.

Did a vanilla 5 mile run on the Creeper yesterday and felt fine.

However, I am re-experiencing some hip tightness and soreness.

So I'm on the foam roller still :( and not running today.

Lots of quick runs today! Plan for me was 5-6 with some quarters thrown in. Every Wednesday I try these and each time I am gassed at the end. Today I did 5 quarters @ 7:21 pace and was comfortable throughout the 5.5 mile run, so I feel like that is some sort of breakthrough. Spareribs

Nice speedy 6, Pink!

Greta tempo running, Byll! I really struggle holding any kind of decent pace in the heat.

Good grief, CNY..... when do you have to get up to put in 13 miles before 9 am????

Poor drooling Reggie!

Got to work extra early to hit the gym for some core/glute/ab work, preceded by an easy 3 mile test run thru the neighbourhood to try out the new XT Wings. Was creaky to start with, but everything felt great after about a mile. Shoes felt nice and supportive and didn't strain the AT's. My only criticism is that they felt really warm compared to my usual trail shoes, but that could have been the socks I had to borrow from a friend (glad I didn't forget my running bra!! )

Happy Birthday to mini-pink! Time does fly doesn't it?

this past wknd we got out the video's of DS when he was 2 and 3. We hadn't watched them in quite a few yrs and it was so much fun to see stuff I had forgotten. Just doesn't seem that long ago that he was a wee lil guy and now he's approaching 11. I'm so glad I took as much video as I did because so many of his little toddler mannerisms or sayings would have been forgotten.

last day at work for me and leaving tomorrow a.m. for the relay. I was busy doing more canning last night (I now have almost 30 jars of beans - some qts and some pints) and started some of my packing also. Tonight I will get in a run, then laundry, then more packing.

Hey Pink! It's my son #2's birthday today, too! But this is a big one: he's 16 today. Good grief. Talk about where did the time go. And the kid is so tall now... 6'3" I think. No wonder we're always out of food.

OM, my son's track team does that drill. Can't remember what they called it, but it wasn't that...

I covet all of these 10 mile runs you guys are doing! I'm supposed to be running my own 10 today, but I'm still sore from Sunday... AND we've got birthday doin's tonight at my parents (a "pizza potluck" and chocolate ice cream cake) so fitting in tomorrow's 5'er today during lunch works out much better. I'm thinking of taking tomorrow afternoon, and Friday afternoon, off to get a run in during the day and get some stuff done that I like to do in the summer.

I always have things I want to do during the summer, but spend too much time at work! It dawned on me that I have leave to use, my boss is out of town this week, my big project at work is mostly wrapped up and I deserve some time off! So, there you have it.

Happy b'days to mini-Pink and Erika's DS! My daughter is turning 16 as well, in just about a month. The end of August is a tough time for a kid to have a birthday, since everyone's always away with family the week or so before school starts (in the northeast we don't start school until after Labor Day). So this year she decided to have a barbecue as her sweet 16 party, and invited 90 of her BFFs. So far the RSVP list shows 32 attending (gotta love FB events!). I'm just glad she's such a low-key sort of kid and doesn't want an elaborate party at a catering hall, as a number of her other friends have had.

I was stuck in the house all morning with the delivery of my new living room furniture, so I didn't get out to run until the middle of the afternoon. I'm actually surprised that I was motivated to go out at that time of day. Must've been the conversation I had with a friend right before that, who told me she had just completed W1D1 of C25K. Gotta love the enthusiasm of new runners!
