Yes - good news Johnny

I eventually did NOT do my run yesterday. Early breakfast meeting and dinner meeting made the perfect excuses for me not to have time to get it in. Actually I was just tired and Mike didn't share his mojo.

10 moh this morning and felt wonderful and quick this morning.

Thinking about signing up for the Bar Harbor Desert Island Maine marathon for next October.

Sounds like great steeplechase training TW. I didn't get to run the steeple at the only meet that held it when I was in high school so I am thinking about running it some year at nationals if I can get in decent shape and find some way to practice a little.

9.5 miles in 76:00 this morning 2% incline. Supposed to be recovery day, but any time running 9.5 miles still gets a little tiring towards the end.

Maybe some more roofing today if I don't get rained on.

I see that my post from last night didn't work. should have known better than to try and post from home. never seems to work. Anyways, I passed on my "yay's!" to Johnny for a good result from yesterdays testing.

and also mentioned that I'm sorry that Pear is filled up. Has it filled before? I can't remember. Sounds like it should be a decent morning, weather-wise, for the race though, so I would love to see you cheering and yelling at me . . . I mean motivating me . . . that final mile to pick up the pace! I have decided to switch weekends on the long run though and just run 12 this Saturday: 1 mi w/u, 10 mi race, 1 mi c/d . . . I figured if I am able to run another 5-6 after a 10 mile race, then I didn't really leave it all out on the course and with the intervals I've been doing for 6-7 wks now, I'd like to see what I can do out there.

yesterday was a rest day - had a DT leg massage - new massage guy. wasn't real impressed, so in search of a new one I guess. If the weather holds, I think I'll go do my 400m intervals today on the bike path during lunch.

Six miles for me today on the local rail trails. Felt good from the start and it turned out to be an effort I had accomplished only once before in '11 -- on Feb. 17. It was slow, but it was steady, and it was nonstop. I'm pleased with it.

afternoon all....great runs Baba, rip & KS

TW....I have to tell ya....I'd make a darn poor hostage as absolutely NO ONE would pony up anything for my ransom.....be it Knoxville Liverasian Font or the Kitten Liberation Front.

A rare noon time run for me as I had to testify as an expert witness in a property dispute this AM....and to think the court continued the proceedings from yesterday just for me....boy, do I have 'em fooled. 4 hilly, drizzly miles, 1st one easy as I wanted to make sure the parts still worked and then hammered the next 3.

Thanks for the well wishes.

I'm bummed about the Pear Tammy, I'm kicking myself for not just registering anyway when I had the chance......you want a pacer the last few miles??

yes Johnny - I would love a pacer the the last couple miles. I'll need some help kicking it in high gear. You're hired!

Opie, a friend of mine that lives in Edmond emailed me because her DH is a runner and is having IT issues. He wants to find a good sports massage person and so my friend asked me to ask you (because she knew I had a running friend that lived out her way) if you knew of someone you'd recommend. I realize you are sort of on opposite sides of OKC but I think he works in OKC so would be willing to drive down towards Moore if you had someone you highly recommended for sports injury type massage.

Hi all, good running today -

Feeling guilty as just as I get into a little more distance, I come down with the mother of all head colds and chest infections - I don't connect the two, but it means that instead of running, I am coughing and sneezing and (being a guy!), feeling sorry for myself - Oh well, catch up with some reading at least.... maybe watch the Masters tomorrow.... hopefully can get running again before the weekend.

WTG, Baba!!! Nice running!

Had intended to join the Wednesday trail group today, but didn't get an email, so wasn't sure it it was on. Maybe they dropped me for being too slow????

So went out to explore some trails near work near the ritzy part of town. Planned on doing ~7, but got a bit carried away and ended up with a rather slow 8. Am feeling pretty wiped , so will likely go pass out on the couch until bed time!

Tammy, I actually was going to chime in about your massage so your question comes at a strange time. I was also going to get a deep tissue massage yesterday, but one of my favorite therapists has left the place I've been going, after another one left earlier. So, unfortunately, I can't recommend anyone & don't know where to go myself. And I've prepaid for a couple more massages at The Body Shop, on the southside of the city. It is very affordable.

Had a great group ride: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/77661353 There was a good-sized group and the weather was much better than it has been. I've signed up for the 33-mile tour Saturday. One guy said he was like me last year, pretty new at it, and he signed up for the 50-mile, which wasn't so smart.

Just in from an exhilarating run outside. After a cold day of intermittent dark clouds and rain, including a near-flurry at lunchtime, the clouds moved south to snuggle up to the Olympics along with the snow that fell there last night. I had sunshine in my face and baby calves kicking up their heels in the pastures adjacent to the bike trail – the wet grass so green it was like Technicolor!

With my brain pre-programmed for a speed workout, my afternoon tiredness evaporated once I got outside. I’m making progress toward my 10 mpm pace.

My 8-miler went like this: 11:15, 10:24, 10:06, 10:21, 10:09, 10:16, 10:21, and the final mile at 9:50!

Brrrrr! Chillly windy run home tonight! DH didn't think I'd want to do it, thought I should maybe wait till tomorrow when the conditions were better, but I'd brought good clothes to work and had all my stuff and my mind set to do it... so off I went. Temp was about 19° and the wind brought the windchill down to about 2° BUT I was running mostly with the wind so that wasn't a hugh deal. Rolling hills, some ice in the shady spots but a good run overall. Hands fully warmed up by 3 miles in (did I say brrrr?), and DH picked me up before the trip up the hill got too miserable (my face felt frozen!). So... 9.06 hilly miles @ 8:09 avg pace. Nice run, glad I did it.
