Is it walking weather in Wisconsin, Richard?<br><br>
My plan today is lifting weights, teaching spinning, and then a quick treadmill run since I'll be traveling tomorrow so will take the day off.<br><br>
Megs (from yesterday) -- sorry to hear about the mono diagnosis and hope your energy is back up soon.<br><br>
Good workouts, resting, and healing to everyone!

Tough workout tonight...I don't think the TM will be necessary though so I should make it through all right.

SGH: no i most certainly is not walking weather... but I really sick of running on this ice and my stability muscles around my knees would really appreciate a day of walking. -11 with windchill right now... however it is supposed to get to 19 degrees today. enjoy your workouts today<br><br>

Today will be a rest from running day. I might do some other stuff, stretching/core etc... Later today we are suppose to have some snow. They say anywhere from 2-5 inches. A good portion of the snow we had on the ground has melted away and that is a good thing. Enjoy the running everyone and have a great morning.<br><br>

Me - I had a good workout this morning. This was done in military uniform with boots. Started with a horizontal rope climb. Not as easy as it looks. Then to an obstacle course and then off for a run through a pretty difficult trail. Not designed for running. Five miles of running in 1:10 or an average pace of 13:55. At the turn around I did a serious of lunges while I was waiting on everyone else to rest up for the return trip. My legs are feeling every bit of it right now.<br><br>
The lunch time plan in maybe 20 miles on the bike followed by a hard mile run. Shooting for a 6:15 mile or better.

The day has finally come. I'm waiting nervously...I hope nothing goes wrong. My expectations are no expectations, or negative expectations even. I just don't want to get my hopes up. I feel fine, but we'll see after the run.<br><br>
Plan is my usual 8+ at lunch. For today. If I feel okay, I've GOT to start ramping back up the mileage. And it's all for Nirvana and Liz right now. Get better you guys!<br><br>
*Megs - I'm so sorry to hear about your Mono. Please take care of yourself. I have known plenty of people who have acquired that and you need to think about your health first and foremost. Don't overdo ANYTHING. Like I'm one to talk, but seriously. Hope to hear good news from you soon.

This night time runner will post here today:<br><br>
Winter storm yesterday was more bark than bite. Snowed all day yesterday turned to rain in the evening. 35F and sprinkling on top of a few inches of soft snow. All but one of the run club bailed on the interval workout. One hearty fool insisted on going, so I joined along. We ran the workout soft snow and slush.<br><br>
9.25 miles total<br>
2.75 wup<br>
3.5 @ I-pace (7x 800m; with 2:00 to 2:30 recoveries)<br>
3.0 cdn<br><br>
Ran an unmeasured road course by time. This time of season my VDOT indicates 3:05-ish for the 800s at I-pace. We ran the intervals in the 3:15-3:20 range.<br><br>
To me running outside, even in the slush, is infinitely better than the dang TM!<br><br>
Have nice hump day runs, all.

Fish bowl for me this morning. Met with my swim coach. Did I mention I shoveled heavy wet snow for about half an hour yesterday??? Arms were already dead, but coach worked me hard anyway. Was only supposed to be 30mins, but ended up being a full hour. Normally I swim for a bit after a session. Not today. I was DONE!<br><br>
Then for a run. I really should figure out the dreadmill thing... Ran outside. Considered doing the Last Chance loop, but traffic seemed a bit heavy, so opted to do my usual route. When the city plowed yesterday, they threw the slush onto the sidewalk. This refroze overnigth, and was covered with a nice coating of new snow. So footing was tricky at best. Ended up cutting my run a bit short because my legs were getting tired and this was no place for tired legs. 3.8m, 34:40, 9:08pace<br><br>
I go for acupuncture later today. The PF is no better and now I have a new tenderness in my toes. I think I'm just plumb falling apart!

Now that you mention it Roots, I forgot to post my elliptical machine workout last night.<br><br>
12.98 miles, 66 minutes, 5:05 pace<br><br>
That's 6 days in a row of elliptical ONLY workouts. I'm pretty pissed that I've only run 4 out of 12 days in February. Are you kidding me? Anyway, my legs are pretty worn out from the hard elliptical workouts I have put in, but nothing aching. So we'll see.

Tonya - Take it easy on the run today. Don't do any intervals just yet. You don't want to get back into it too quickly. Test it out today with an easy pace run.

Another day off here. I've gotten to the point where I can ALMOST walk normally again, although still a little slower than usual. I'm not used to getting passed while walking! Also, I have progressed and can now stand for around 15 minutes consecutively without much pain. Sad, but that's progress. Thankfully, sitting doesn't hurt anymore either.<br><br>
I'm supposed to be in Columbus Ohio at the beginning of next week for work. Unfortunately, this will be a trip that involves a good deal of physical labor. I hope things are back to normal (or at least better) by then!

Oh, I plan to just do an easy 8 something miles at my normal 7:53 pace. Nothing faster. I just want to run, and if I have to do that for a while, that's fine. My plan is to do 8 whatever today, around 12 tomorrow, 8 something Friday, and then see where I stand. My coach said that that is a good plan, and that after Friday's run, if I'm up to it, I could run Saturday with the team which would be 16+ miles. Then Sunday will probably be another easy 8 something, giving me a measly 53 miles or so this week. <img alt="sad.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad.gif">

got my 4 in though it was not easy. pretty tired and stiff. took 2 miles just to warm up.<br><br>

Hi all. No run for me today on account of the weather - a lot of wet, icy, slushy stuff. I was prepared to brave it, but my wife was convinced I was going to get myself killed and I eventually succumbed to her wisdom. It was good to get some extra sleep anyway...<br><br>
Tonya enjoy you return to running today - hope all goes well...<br><br>
Roots - nice workout last night -- what are you shooting for at Boston? (And on a side note, a peek at your profile revealed we share the same b-day!)
