Morning peeps.

I am up bright and early working at home rather than running. I have my first interval workout and decided to wait until the sun rises to hit the streets since it is still pretty icy out there. I just really didn't want to have to attempt .5 mile repeats on the treadmill if possible. Hopefully the temps will be bearable in an hour or so.

Other than that, it should be a relatively uneventful day for me today.

TTYL.

(((((((Dillon, Papa Pfieffer, Colleen, Brandy's Mama))))))) Healthy vibes going out to them all too.

Missy, I was just thinking of you and what a difficult time you had when I saw your absolutely gorgeous Christmas card. I am so glad you pulled through.

BTW - when did you live in Wisco? I think I missed that.

Moe - I have a Sole mill and I really like it. I highly recommend against getting a really cheap 'mill, no matter how tempting. I did that the first time around and the damn thing kept dying on me.

Me - I am STARVING today and feel like I could gnaw my arm off. Danggit. I know it happens when I start upping the training, but I need to drop some tonnage, which means NOT eating more. Grrrrrr.

or eating the right things. :) it is a really hard balance but doable. Oh yeah, eating ice helps too

Speaking of eating the right things - I just found out Chili's is the restaurant of choice tonight. Not the easiest place to stick to plan! Good news is: I ate on the lighter side for lunch, so I have a bit of room in the calorie budget. Bad news is: that all the things I normally order are twice that amount!

I'm looking at a ProForm and the higher end ones seem to get good reviews. I plan to spend $1000 to $1500. I figure I spent more than that on my gym membership over the last couple years and haven't stepped foot in the place in as long.

Their guiltless grill seems a good choice - under 700

Hi all - today was a big recon/shopping day. I spent a fair chunk of time trying to get acquainted with downtown Columbus and surrounding parts. The downtown reminded me a bit of San Francisco's mainly in that many streets had no-turn restrictions, but I think I got it down. Picked up a few food items, winter gear, and some work clothes also.

Maureen - I've heard good things about Precors and Soles. This seems to be a good site for making some comparisons

QOD1: eh, nothing to brag about (mid-20s). I'm aiming to change that in the near future; even bought a new running vest at the Eddie Bauer outlet in town to help that endeavor out.

QOD2: mid-90s on a summer training run, but at least there the temps started dropping after a few minutes into my runs. On the other hand, the temps reached that point or even a little higher near the end of a couple of my races (the Morgan Hill Sprint Tri and the Giants Half Marathon)

I was surprised to see chicken fajitas without condiments or tortillas was under 400 cals. Skip the tortillas, and no sour cream (must have guac tho!) and it's still under 500...and that's a lot of food.

Yes, fortunately I cooked last night and brought stuff in today, so at least I have healthy choices. What I really wish I had right now is an apple.

(((((((Dillon, Pfieffer Poppa, Colleen, Brandy's Momma, Missy and Shannon & co-worker)))))) (OK, I did copy that from Moonie, but the sentiment is the same)

Missy, I completely get that and you are a badass for owning up to it. There's a reason that sleep deprivation is highly used in torture. So glad you found healthy resolution and I bet it has made you an even better NP baby birther going forward.

Moe, there is a lot of information on treadmilldoctor.com. Some of it isn't current but is of use for buying used.

(((Missy))) It took courage to say that, even to us.

Lots of love too for Brandy's mom, Maria's dad, Dillon, and all those who are struggling with illness or loss.

Good news on Dillon and good thoughts for your pops!!
As long as you're sharing 30s mojo, I'd like to borrow some for my co-worker Colleen. She is the girl who has been fighting breast cancer for the last 4 years. It was diagnosed while she was pregnant and recurred 2 years ago in her lungs. Well, the latest is that they have found some brain mets. She had a gamma knife treatment about a month ago that was supposed to get it all, but she has just told us that they found 6-7 more spots this week. So now she has to have daily brain radiation for a while. She's fighting as hard as she can, but it's getting harder. Sometimes I just wonder how this can be part of life's plan.
