<p>As you begin your 26th VRAA here at Kickrunners.com, we are approaching the 10 year anniversary of the first VRAA. (see wiki and also other post). I've been speaking to BigGahoona about doing a special event this summer (the 27th or 28th VRAA).</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I've been speaking to Huddler about helping us find a sponsor that would either pay for or co-op a Special commemorative Tech T for this event. Every participant in the 10th Anniversary event would get a shirt - and if I can swing it, a 'swag bag'. Just like a real race.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>So, Since VRAA is now beginning, I figured now would be the time to start seeking input on this and gauge interest. We need to see if we can get a nice group size to commit to the race so Huddler can pitch the idea to potential running sponsors.</p>

<p>VRAA is a team event, but you register as an individual. Based on your ability (there's a list of abilities), you're added to a team. I THINK the race director does the team assignments. </p>
<p>There is an online database created by Hairy Trotter - that allows you to log your information there.</p>
<p>I believe VRAA has grown into an 'exercise' event where different exercises are worth different points.</p>

Since it's a Virtual Race, it is a fun run - the teams compete however with each other - normally some smack talking etc... For this event (the Anniversary run), we'll most likely have awards (actual physical prizes). I'm working with BigGahoona on even offering some awards/prizes on the current VRAA.</p>

<p>here is another vraa ..  4063 miles (i guess they take you the loooooong way ...),  10 states.  i started it in jan and am still in VA <img alt="rolleyes.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/rolleyes.gif"> .  You can run, walk , bike or do any combination you want.</p>
<p>as far as i can tell tho ... there is no interaction with other participants which is kind of boring  <img alt="sad.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad.gif"></p>

<p>I'd love to make this happen - Is there a way we can get 50 people to register? Do you have friends that aren't on Kickrunners who might register for this event?  If we could get enough people to commit, I'm certain we can get a sponsor - if not, we would have to go with a registration fee to offset the cost.</p>

<p>Would you do me a favor and invite your friends to come in and vote ? After 26 events here at kickrunners - there is a history of great participation. Let's make the 10th anniversary one to remember. I'll step up and invest in this - if you'll help me get the bodies to participate with us!</p>

<p>A great idea often times never gets off the ground because the vision isn't seen. See the vision! VRAA 10th Anniversary - Even a VRAA Reunion? Go through the forum and think of ALL the members who've participated but have moved on to other things - do you know any of them and do you keep in contact? Would they come back for the 10th? Suesquatch was a Captain for the first one - I bet she would even consider it! Liam was the other captain - With some persuasion, perhaps they'd step up?</p>
