I have water trapped in my ear after this morning's swim. Can't seem to get it out, very irritating. Anyone have any tricks I could try?

If it won't come out, try to ignore it for the rest of the day and then sleep on that side tonight in bed. That usually does the trick for me - or, a nap on my desk after a lunchtime swim.

My ears are such that it will eventually naturally drain/dry out the first two instances or so, but any more than that in a row my ears get plugged up big time - I've had to go to the ENT twice to clear out the gunk and prescribe me antibiotics.

Since then I've gone with earplugs and haven't had a problem since - I just use the Mack's flanged thingamabobs; they're both cheap and reusable for several swims.

A bit of rubbing alcohol & vinegar dripped into the ear and drained out does wonders.

This works for me:

1. Stand up
2. Bend over as far as you can looking back through your legs
3. Wait until the water stops making noise
4. Turn head to side with plugged up ear to the ground
