<p>Yesterday I watched a bike courier pop out of traffic and start belting it down the wrong side of the road.  Just then, another courier roared thorugh the intersection on a red light on the wrong side of the road and turned onto the street as the other courier.  They meet in a head on collision at high speed.  Both yelled as the the roadway was filled with bike and bodies.  They both stood up and grabbed their bikes.  The front tires on both were bent at 90 degree angles. I couldn't help but think some type of justice was served.</p>

<p>I know...I'm going to hell.  But I'm sure hell is filled with bike couriers.</p>

<p>From someone who once locked them up going through a green light at an intersection in order to avoid plowing into a courier going through that intersection in the wrong direction on a one way street and then being given the finger and yelled at by said courier, you were right to enjoy that.</p>

If they can't be bothered follow the laws of the road, then why should I?  I'm not going to slam on my brakes and get rear-ended, or swerve and hit another car or pedestrian for these assholes.</p>

<p>So a few years back I was walking on a sidewalk in Montreal when a bike courrier narrowly misses me as I turn a corner - while on the sidewalk.  He beaks off at me, gives me the finger and while still driving down the road looks over his shoulder at me hurling insults.  He hits a truck parked in the road.  Smack.  I had tried to tell him to watch out, but I think he meant his near hit of me.  Oh well.</p>

<p>A pedestrian was killed by a bicycle rider in Phila last year.  On the sidewalk.  Hit and run.  They never caught the guy.</p>

<p>Another was hit a few weeks later.  That person survived, but fled the scene.</p>
