That gorgeous, just-past full moon was incredibly bright... lighting up my driveway like a spotlight this morning when I left for work at 5:30 am. Venus was glimmering in the eastern sky and it was -1°C and crisp when I got to work and headed out for my run. DH is always worried that I'll be visible on the streets, so wore my yellow reflective biking jacket, a head lamp, extra reflectors on my ankles, and a little red flasher light pinned to the back of my collar. Musta looked like a Chistmas tree!

5.5 SEP miles, finishing as the sun came up. Right hip stayed a bit tight, but is better now. Finished off with a set of Ferbers and a good long stretch in the gym.

Have a glorious day, everyone!!!!

Hi Heme! Hi Mike!

My return to running was quite successful today, with a 5k's distance in the park in 28:19. As usual with the shorter distances, it was an unintentional progression run for me. The left calf was just starting to let me know I was going too fast as I finished the last tenth. I think I need to revisit my metronome running practice, dial in a comfortable yet active pace, and try to stay there for the duration. Good to know I now have a plan.

Hi all...what thread to post to????

wanted to wish Tamster a happy birthday (sorry kid, I don't remember if it was yesterday, today, or tomorrow ), but happy birthday anyway.

Postponed today's AM run, as I woke up feeling like I'm coming down with something. Besides, it was like 25°F........Maybe later (after I soak my toothbrush in listerine)

congrats OM on your own personal marathon last week. Hopefully you'll try a real one soon.

Have a nice thanksgiving all.......mrs. Johnny & myself will probably eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at the park and then go to the movies.

Thanks John. My birthday was yesterday and I had a nice day. did end up working all day but then had dinner (at The Vine) with my parents, my brother who is visiting us this week from MN, and my DH and DS.

I have today off work and went for a run late this morning (when it warmed up to upper 20's) for 5 miles of hills. Tomorrow will be the 2 mile Turkey Trot with DS. Seems silly to drive 40 miles for a 2 mile race, but he enjoys it, so it's worth it.

I'm in charge of desserts tomorrow so will starting making a pumpkin pie and a pecan pumpkin cake roll. Otherwise, my mom has the rest of it covered, so Thanksgiving is an easy day for me as I'm not preparing a much and can do mine the day before.

So when is Thanksgiving? I just know it is November as I did spend it with an American family once.

Nice gentle 12 miles this morning for me before heading up to London to meet K-Swiss who give me shoes to wear. Was a chance to talk products with the UK Sales Manager and the European Product Manager. Lovely indeed, could have done with more time.

Why is it that sat on the train coming home I thought of many more questions and had other ideas?

30 min run this morning. Hot and humid! Tomorrow is our annual Turkey Trot 4 mile race. Temps are to be in the low 70's and 95% humidity with 20-40 mph hour winds.

Happy belated birthday, Tamster!!! I made a mental note the other day and then, where did it go?

Resting today and a lot to celebrate Thanksgiving for tomorrow. DS just got his braces off and made the A concert band this year, so he is especially thankful. DD has been accepted at OU with all kinds of scholarships coming in, so she has plenty too. DW has to put up with me so there must be something else she can be thankful for.

I get to try a new beer tonight, Estrella Damm from Barcelona. My BIL didn't have any beer this time, so I offered to go get some and he recommended it.

What's with mc always running into or waking up these 4-legged predator types? Glad this one looked well fed...

This has been a crazy week. Nothing like a little mid-winter rain and ice storm to shake things up the week before Thanksgiving. I went into the office for most of the day yesterday, but it was a white-knuckle ride there and back (DH drove, my car stayed home). Today I stayed home and got a lot of work done. We're reviewing proposals for most of our ancillary benefit lines and it's a good at-home project... especially since I dragged all the offers home last week to work on them anyway.

I did break away for a run this afternoon. 8.2 mile progression style run on the treadmill. The sad part is the faster paces felt more like 5k effort instead of what they really were... fast marathon pace. Oh well. It's my 5th day in a row of running, starting last Saturday, which is not typical for me. Maybe I'm just tired. Funny way to taper, as Mike would say.

I think I'll venture out in a bit. Need to pick up some things at the store and I think the roads are in much better shape now with the sanding and scraping that's been going on.

It was too cold for my lungs. Now...fatossig would run short miles on steep hills...I have hills around me. I could run short hill reps in days like today. I could still do it, I guess...but I already took a bath after work, I am on my comfort pj and drinking a good merlot...why would I want to go out
