Good Morning,

Well I don't know what I did yesterday but my lower back is really sore. I am going to try and run but this might get cancelled really quick. I really wish I knew what I did to my back. I didn't do anything hard besides sit on my butt and read a book and log into work from time to time. This sucks.

Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning. A few sprinkles right now from a stray shower, but overall the day should be drier. It is forecasted to get really windy this afternoon, so that will be a pain.

I ran a total of 11+ miles yesterday and had to walk an additional mile or so. The heat and humidity took me by surprise and I was not hydrated enough before I ran. I went through my water way too fast and was running on empty.

A lesson learned...it is time to change my mindset for running in the summer as opposed to winter.

That is a nice countdown, Porty!

My long run went well, just very hot. I may take a rest day today though, my back is really wrenched, FB I can understand how you feel! Todd-- i was the only runner out there with water and I had to really portion out my water on my 11 mile loop, my other loops were shorter.

Good morning! If anyone has tips on acclimating to running in the heat, please let me know. I am a complete wimp about running in heat and humidity.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. We close on the house today, so we will no longer have two houses. Whew! I hope the bank account starts to recover after this.

Jebba-- slowing the pace until acclimated is a great way to start. Good luck with the closing :)

I end up doing a lot of my week day runs in the gym on the treadmill, particularly when we have high smog days in Atlanta. My weekend runs I do outside but I start them no later than 6:30 or often at 6:00am to avoid the heat and smog. And I make sure I have access to water fountains.

Jebba,

Plan on shorter runs until you are used to it, which never happens for me, and to either bring water or make sure you hide water bottles along the route! If you can run in the morning that is better since it will be cooler. At least here in Florida the temps will still be high at 7, 8 or 9 at night.
