Morning Gang -

Hi Mindi!

First morning of this season with my arm sleeves on. It was 44. Nice! I got 9 miles done with 4x1200m intervals. They were harder than I wanted them to be.

I have a teenager now - DD's 13th birthday today. Lord help me!

Good runs to all!

Just about crapped myself on my run this morning - running in the dark and came up on a raccoon or some other critter in a tunnel. I had my iPod on but it was in between songs so all of a sudden I see a dark shadow scurry right in front of me and claws scratching on the bike trail. Nice cool morning though so that was a welcome change. I'm starting to think I may be a marathoner again instead of a long run slogger!

Woot on the morning running!!! Nice!

I got up and reset my alarm in the middle of the night since I was. not. sleeping. I know it's hormonal and it will pass so I'm okay with it - for now. Lotsa coffay today though. And no morning run, which sucks since it is beeyooteeful out. I was mildly tempted to call in today and spend the day puttering and running and whatnot. But I didn't. I did get to walk the mile in to work in the nice weather though. And I'll get my run in tonight - 5 miles. Skipped yesterday's 5 miler and took a rest day because I just felt like my body needed it.

Happy trails all!

Ok, so now that Pacer is wearing skirts while he runs, he thinks it's ok to squeal like a girl when he sees a critter on the trail!

hee hee!

I missed my morning run because DH had a dentist appointment first thing. But he came home and said he messed up, the appointment is actually tomorrow morning. So not only did I miss this morning's run, but I'll miss tomorrow's too. Gah. I'll run later on today, I guess. The running group is doing a run at 6 and then we're having our Fiddlers meeting at 7. So that leaves enough time for a decent run.

Good Morning!

Clare is funny.

4.5 this morning. Litch, we must have had the same weather - I was drenched and very thirsty when I was finished. I had 32oz of water before 6:15am! I also got a new (additional) running partner today. She's new to our neighborhood and emailed my RP to see if she could join us a couple of days a week. I think she's going to fit right in!

Yesterday's workout (yoga) did not happen b/c I forgot I had a work meeting at 6. By the time I got home (nearly 8), I was ravenous and just ate Chinese leftovers while watching the Phillies reclaim first place in the NL East.

This morning's workout (track) did not happen b/c I was still awake at 1:30 a.m. and therefore reset my alarm from 5 to 6. Teaching boot camp tonight (first time in MONTHS... I oughta be nice and sore for my race this weekend). I'll do something extra afterward... swim or run or something.

I just got the athlete's packet for this weekend's tri. The bike is not 16 miles, as advertised, but 17.5. Weird distances for this one -- .6 mile swim, 17.5 bike, 2 run. Can I beat last year's time of 1:38:15 and 3rd in AG? Doubtful.

morning

I ran a little over 6 last night in wonderful 60 degree weather. It felt pretty good until the last mile. I am still getting used to the new shoes and am trying to not run on my heels. Lotsa concentration!

Got up a little late this morning to I only had time for 20 min on the bike. Running Hyland Hills tonight.

Pacer askerred over a raccoon? HA! They only scare me when they are in big packs. *shudder* Hopefully I don't run into any mean wildlife tonight besides the skeeters! The turkeys did attack a woman earlier this year and there is the coyote so....

For the record I did not squeal like a girl...but I did hike my skirt up as I pranced away and yelled "Shoo, you mean old Mr. Raccoon, SHOO!" My heart was all aflutter and I did the move that ladies do where they wave their hands towards their face in an attempt to keep from crying (I don't get that - WTF does that do?!)

Running down my block coming home, my new neighbor came whizzing up on his bike into his driveway, jumped off, took off his helmet and turned around to go run. And while he's doing this mini transition his two little kids were in the window yelling Go Daddy Go! It was the cutest thing EVAH!
