Apparently I'm channeling my inner Fozzie-Bear this morning.

Hope everyone is waking up to a good day. Weather all around seems pretty crappy. Major snow in the north. Rain and tornado watches here in the south. Eek. Be safe, everyone!

Good morning!

Fozzy Bear is a great way to start the weekend, Ailarie!!

Nice race report, Bob! I enjoyed all the Bobcam pics!

The weather up here isn't too bad. We had some snow and ice this morning, but it should all be gone by lunch time. It actually works for me, so I can fit some school work in. I have a couple of assignments due tomorrow that I am just tweaking. However, DH just put on Moneyball, so I might take a little break!

I also need to get in a few miles this weekend. I am finishing up week 2 of my HM training. I'm super excited for it!

Happy running this weekend!

We got some snow and ice last night but it held off long enough for us to join up with some of the Ohio PRT crew. I have covered parking for the 1st time in my life and I am loving it right about now. My sister is going to come up later once the roads are a bit better and temps warm up. She is going to help me clean the old place so I can turn in my keys.

wOOt! I just spent a few minutes reading the 30s dictionary thread. Those were some good times.

Q: What happened to Gobbles? Who has him?

Anyway, met up with my crew for an easy 13.1 mile lap of the Mercedes Marathon course in downtown Bham. We have a storm system bearing down on us, but we got the run in. It was crazy hot and humid for the first 8 miles. Then the wind came, then it down poured on us. Then it turned nice for about 30 minutes. Then we finished and then about 30 mins later all hell broke loose with winds and thunder and lightning.

We've declared it a rainy day nap day at my house. I'm going to shower up, get another cup o coffee and get my sweats on. Couch lounging and napping are the order of the day, until I have to leave for the annual Track Club party tonight.

sounds like a great way to spend the day Timr!

hockey game was a blast last night...the team twitter feed said to tweet your seat locations and there might be a surprise, so I did. When we got to our seats we had a poster and an autograph waiting for us...ok, so I don't really care about the autograph but the idea is pretty cool. then we got a 5-0 win, and we got to see a penalty shot turned away. Back tonight.

No activity for me today - pushed my running/cardio back to tomorrow. Just wasn't feeling it.

My day so far sounds much like Tim's, except for the big run (I only ran 3). Nappage was definitely in order though. Next I need to sew some buttons on a sweater. I should sew, but don't really want to right now. And I figure it's my birthday so I can do what I want, right?

Tonight we're going to dinner with a couple friend of ours (and their 3 young girls) and FIL and his wife, and then on to watch PBR.

Quiet morning here. In fact, it is 12:17 and I am still in my jammies sipping on coffee. I need to get motivated to go for a run though - it is a whopping 20 degrees out there - tropical!! The roads are covered in snow/ice, but I can't do the treadmill again today.

I have a fair bit to do this afternoon, then I am going to DH's band gig tonight with a bunch of friends to celebrate my friend's 41st birthday. Should be fun!

Happy brrf-day, Kath! :)

8.0M on the TM are done. I was shooting for 10, but the storm system changed my mind, as I didn't want to take a chance on my TM getting zapped. It's looking like monsoon season here at the moment. Yikes!

Also - while (earlier) surfing through pinterest.com (dangit ... SOMEONE here introduced me to it today, and I've spent far too much time there already!), I found a saying that I thought was pretty cool: "You're only one run away from a good mood."

Happy Birthday, Kath!!

A bit of snow here. Getting to work and back was slow, but not really a problem. The good news is that I got everything done, and the new software is up and running. The rest of the department can come in on Monday morning and we should be good to go. Now I've got the rest of the weekend free. Dunno what I'll do. Maybe I should run...

Last night I wrote up my Race Report for Arizona. Apparently eccabex has seen it. Anyone else?

I'm putting my run off until tomorrow. The running paths are still a sheet of ice and I don't have access to a treadmill.

I spent my morning starting the packing up of my kitchen -- cabinets/countertop and appliances will be delivered sometime next weekend, and then the work begins!

I also made a veggie soup/stew from scratch. Yum!

Just got back from a dicey, chilly, 4 miler with my neighbor. The roads are slushy, icy, and slick. But we just ran up to town for fun and fresh air, so it was a good run.

Off to a friend's (Beaker's old coach) birthday party tonight. There will be bull-riding! (ok, mechanical, but still!)

Hey, all. Went to the gym this morning and did 2 min run/1 min walk for 2 miles. My back started to bother me, but I finished the 2 miles and then did back stretches, side crunches and ball squats. Progressively through the afternoon my back got tighter and tighter and I had to pull out a hot water bottle. Hopefully no exercise tomorrow will be good for it. I did break down and buy a kneeling chair yesterday, so hopefully that will help.

Be careful in crazy weather. Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the mid-high 50s but we shouldn't see any precipitation.

Solar, if you're changing your address, please make sure you update the card list.

Hi all - well, I guess I'm officially an Ohioan now? I drove through very slushy, slippery streets (with a quick trip back to the apartment after I realized I forgot some important docs) to the local BMV. However, after 10 min in line, I was told (actually, I'm glad that they did) that I needed to go to another location several miles away through more slushiness because they were the only location available on Saturday to take a written test.

Waited in line for 45 min only to be told that I needed to go next door first for the test (thankfully, the clerk told me that provided I pass the test, I could go directly to her.) I went next door and spent another 45 min to take and pass the test (on a touch-screen computer - oooh, fancy!), then headed back next door and waited another 15 min until that same clerk finished up with the customers she had at that moment.

Everything seemed to go fine after that, but for some reason the clerk said my test results were nowhere to be found, This meant another 10 min delay where the clerk had to go to the testing site to verify my passing (the clerk who set up the test there apparently hadn't entered in something correctly). I then showed jusssst enough documentation to prove I still wasn't living in California (no, I drove 2500 miles across the country to give up my perfectly valid California drivers license because the Ohio license is just so much more pretty ), became a registered voter and organ donor, and after another 25 min or so, I had my bright, shiny new Ohio drivers license.

Afterward, I made a cross-town trip to grab some coffee beans (for grinding for our french press) and new wipers. During that time, I was asked by a store employee if I knew at what time the Buckeye basketball game was showing. I was a little dumbfounded until I realized the winter hat I was wearing (a welcome gift from a friend in the area) had a big-ass red Buckeye "O" on the front.

Okay, maybe not yet....

Kath - happy birthday!!! That Mexican place is good - how'd the bullriding workout for you?

Timr - sounds like a perfect kind of Saturday

Continued hugs to ((((((KJ, Prae & Maureen)))))) and good weekend vibes to the rest of you

Happy Sunday and helllloooo everyone! Yesterday's HM was tons of fun though a bit challenging w/6 in. of fresh snow. Slow moving but great to experience it w/some friends who have a) never run trails before and b) never run snowy trails before. One of the guys parents' hosted us for a warm, tasty lunch and it brought up energy levels so we could get back into the city. Laid low the rest of the night. Heading out to kickball practice shorty & bringing the shovels for the fields ... wheee! Hoping to squeeze in a short run and/or some yoga later, around a friend's housewarming.

Stay warm, friends!

Happy belated Birthday to Kath!!!

Tim - that sounds like a fab Saturday

Lora - can't wait to see the finished product!

For Elizabeth, a pick of Oskar's jacked-up ears. Yes, the one stays pointed towards the middle. It flops around when he is running, but when he stops its back in this position. Funny.
