Morning!

I did an easy 3 last night instead of intervals....no TM's at the Strom. BOO. It felt good, though...knees are much better this morning. That means intervals Thursday afternoon. wOOt!

Eek - two threads! :) I'm going with who got theirs in first, so here I be! :)

5M on the Tm last night. Found one of my older CD's used when I used to teach power pump. 60 minutes of X Beats Per Minute 80's stuff. Had a good time, except that at many points, the CD started to skip and I had to grab the remote to move ahead a bit. Bummer. That was a cool music compilation :)

It'll be weights/core and 3-5M tonight.

How YOU doin? :)

morning

well, we have a '5k' time trial around the dome last night to get a good benchmark of where we are for spring training. Actually it ended up being 3.04 because that is 8 laps around. All afternoon my stomach was bleh so I was a wee bit worried. At 3 laps, it started to hurt like side ache stuff. One chick was finishing hers when I was just starting my 4th and she came to a dead stop in the fast lane and then did a side step when I was trying to avoid her so I had to pull up and almost come to a complete stop else I would have knocked her over. I still ended up pushing her a bit.

Oh well, after 5 laps, I got the 5k "i just want to stop, it hurts" motto in my head and was convinced that my stomach was going to assplode all over the concourse. During my last lap I was able to see I was catching a guy in our group and as we rounded the last corner, he turned back and said "pass me girl". So I pushed hard, got next to him and then BOOM he kicked and was gone. :( I had no kick and another guy who was stealthing me kicked past too. Oh well, I had some mega issues but finished in 22:30 which equates to a 22:56 and that is a PR. I McMillan'ed it and that worked to be a 1:46 half, EXACTLY. And that is what I am aiming for at the Disneyworld Princess half.

7 miles in slippery snow this morning. Boot camp after class.

I'm ok, and my immediate family is ok, but there's some bizarre stuff going on all around me. I kind of feel like I'm watching bad cable instead of real life!

I hope everything is okay, Amichel...

Nice speediness, Brandy!

Why do the kids have the day off, RIL? Is it some weird state holiday in Wisconsin?

Looks like I'll only have time for another easy 3 mile run tonight. This'll be 4 days in a row where I do no more than 3 miles. Not exactly racking up the mileage, but then again, I'm still only a week and a half removed from a marathon, so maybe it's a good thing...

Yikes Amy! I hope things improve. Sending lots of positive vibes and hugs your way.

bOb - it seems like they constantly have random days off. I believe today is because yesterday was the end of the semester, so teachers do grades/etc. today.

I had a freakin' awesome workout this morning! Woot woot! Won't go into too much detail, but my HR was nice and low for my w/u and c/d and I nailed my tempo intervals - they were very smooth and even. Yay.

Great job on the virtual PR, Brandy!

I went off the reservation yesterday and decided to try 5k easy on the TM with no walking breaks yesterday. No problemo! 29 minutes with no real issues. I'll be a good boy and return to the regular program now. Weight training is also going well.

Tobey and Porter are starting to bond. Last night Porter was in the dog chair and Tobey would lie down right next to it, rather than over by us.

Tycho and I go skiing on Friday. He's been sick the last couple of days, so hopefully he's back to 100% by then.

Been out of the loop for a few days. Getting consisten exercise, so that is good. Plus I have a rooting interest in the Super Bowl, and my hocke team leads the Eastern Conference.

I have been handling early morning drop offs for my kids, so DW can stay home and not have to wake up our 8 YO early. So 2-4 days per week, I am 15-30 minutes late for work. Good thing it is dead around here, told DW to enjoy while she can. Hopefully when I get a real job after 4\1, I will not have the flexibility. All a trade off.

Met with our accountant the other day, to start off the tax prep thing. Started talking about college aid, and she basically told us we will not get much (assuming my emplyment situation does not get ugly). Classic middle class squeeze - we have saved up enough and make enough that we will not get much (if any) aid, but we don't have nearly enough to pay for it. Farg.

Tim - glad to hear your DD was not seriously hurt. That is scary stuff.

Maria - where in NJ were you over the weekend? And the company kegerator is cool, but whay the drug test-sized cups?

((((Bella))))

Oskar is going to be bigger than katholeenie soon.

Avocados are evil.

Books - use your library and save some $$$ people. Plus, librarians are cool!

Remember when CoachT look like kermit on a bicycle after the NJ marathon.
solar gave me her dinner within 2 minutes of meeting her (I was late to the restaurant we met at prior to the NJ Marathon)
Mr. Beaker supplied many beers for the philly marathon cheering section, some of which met an untimely demise (Chris dropped\knocked over at least 2).

Brandy - nice work! I think you can definitely pull off a 1:46 half. If I were a betting woman, I'd say you could go a couple minutes under that pretty easily too. When is it?

Litch - that sucks re college. What we recently learned was that the money we have put in our kiddos college accounts has not grown at all in the last 10 years. Great.

Duck - glad your furry buddies are getting along. Cool re the 5K too - just be careful. Especially when you are skiing. I know that is when I would end up hurting myself.

Morning 30's. I got in a good 4 mile run and some weights while my son was at wrestling practice. Tonight I should be able to get in something similar.

Thanks Tim.

Brandy - sounds like you're right on track. I hate 5Ks for that pukey feeling too!

I did yesterday's track workout this morning. About 7.5 miles with 3 x 1 mile repeats. It was sunny and windy like TOG windy. Still managed to get my miles done between 6:05 and 6:20, so i'll take it.

Hey, kids! I'm working at home trying to read a foundational research book in my field for class tomorrow night and it's boring me to death. Gah! I've only read two chapters and I think I have four more. It doesn't help that I'm on the floor still and Darcy keeps trying to eat my snacks.

Met with the trainer again this morning. I've been feeling generally off for the last couple of days, struggled with my cardio homework yesterday, and was feeling a little nervous about what's going on with my body. [Example: I went to Mass this morning before going to the gym, and part way through, I had to get up and stand in the back of the church for the rest of Mass because sitting was so uncomfortable.] Moving is fine but being stationary is just not working. Workout this morning was really doable, though, and I was seriously sweating, so I know I was working hard. My body's feeling it in a good way, and my back is not any worse than it's been for the last couple of days, but something's not quite right. I'm hoping a massage on Friday will loosen things up. I really don't want to have to consult a DO.

I wish I were reading a fun book instead. Now back to boring stuff.

Hi folks!!!

SO nothing again last night, not good!! Had a wicked headache and headed to bed right after the boys did. I need to run tonight though!!!

Litch I know there is no way we will be able to pay for college for my kids. They each have 2 savings accounts (one we feed and one my father in law feeds) and even then, I see no way we will have enough. I have resigned myself to the fact that there will be lots of loans and we will help them pay them off after the fact. Of course we are holding out hope they will be star athletes and get full rides

Amy sending good thoughts your way!!!!

Oh, anyone else think $50 for a 5k is insane?! I was going to register for a race yesterday but I can't justify that, I don't care what the swag is!!

Oh and I was just talking to Mr. Beaker, he feels honored he made the remember when list and says he looks forward to being a beer runner for you all again soon!!!

I always think of Joey Tribiani when I hear 'how you doin'?'

My eye isn't actually injured (scratched or whatever) but it is swollen (the eyeball itself, not my eyelids or surrounding area). So I get to do drops 3x a day and wear my glasses for a while. at least it isn't anything serious. Annoying, but not serious.

Knitting with the ladies later, providing my eye doesn't freak out like it did Monday. (Only stayed 15 min Monday cause it hurt and I couldn't see for all the watering.)

Oh, and I need to make a tea pot and trim some bowls.

Aaaand there was something else but now I can't remember what. hm.

((((Litch))})}}} college is SO expensive. We (my parents and I) were in the same boat way back when. I ended up getting some loans, which took me 7 years to pay off. Can't imagine trying to pay for it now.
