I'm glad today is Friday, it's been a crazy week (in mostly good ways) and I'm now battling a cold and can use some rest. No particular plans for the weekend at this point, other than finishing up some more scarves to send to my SIL for the final fundraising event for brain cancer she and her sister have organized.

I was originally going to do a 4 mile run as part of Voodoo's birthday bash, but that heel issue is still lingering. I think it has finally turned the corner, it's been a lot better (though not at all 100%) the past 3 days, but as Moonie can tell you, there were times over the weekend and last week that I could barely stand to put weight on it. I'm still trying to think of how else I might manage to get involved (really wish my bike weren't broken, that would be perfect) but if nothing else, I can certainly raise a beer in his memory.

Morning, everyone! I WENT FOR A WALK THIS MORNING! It felt so freaking fantastic! I went 4 miles but I had to slow way down in the second half because my right knee started to bother me. I have a heel lift in that shoe, and it was really wreaking havoc with my leg. Still, I got the whole 4 miles in! Beyond pumped!

This was the second song on my playlist and I thought it was appropriate (and not as annoying as the original):

This is probably more palatable and also appropriate:

Still so excited for bard and moon. What's the new job entail? It is much of the same or a pretty big switch? Love it!

Glad you are feeling good Ron - enjoy running in Vegas.

I still feel like complete crap. I have gone to bed early every night and slept in, but this head cold is hanging on. Boo. And I am in a super crappy mood. Boo x 2. Although I am glad to hear KP wasn't intentionally dressing up like a Gator yesterday. Heh. Sorry bOb.

Safe travels to everyone going to New York. Clare and Tim - hope you are feeling great! Any fun meet ups this weekend? If so, be sure to post some pics.

Good news on the walk, Prae!

Feel better, RIL. And don't worry, I don't blame anyone for not wanting to dress up in Gator colors this year. The Gator football message boards are quite amusing these days. Gator fans have been spoiled by success in recent years, and the good thing is that most fans seem to realize that were we spoiled. So most fans are taking this terrible season in stride, and have been makign jokes about how bad we are. It's gotten to the point where the fan base is somewhat split as to whether we'll beat Vanderbilt this weekend -- at home! And the thought is that with South Carolina and Florida St still on the schedule (along with patsy Furman, the only gimme), that makes the Vandy game a must-win for us to become bowl eligible this year. It's been a loooooong time since the Gators had to worry about being bowl eligible. Most Gator fans have long since written off this season and are focused more on the recruiting class. Looks like we've got another top class coming in, full of 5-star athletes. Of course, most of our recent classes have been full of 5-star athletes also, and most of them haven't panned out so well...

My plan for today is to hit the Y and swim -- my new Friday routine. That's not exactly a VTFU thing, I don't think. I really should go out and run 20 miles, right? Well, this'll have to do, and I hope the big guy would be okay with it...

Good morning all & a very happy 40th to our buddy, Voo! I'm on my way back to NYC & excited to see Tim, his wife & Missy tonight!! And Colleen & her hubs tomorrow ... we may even run into PC along the way somewhere!

This trip home was short but we got thru some good stuff yesterday & we'll all be back together for an early Thanksgiving in a couple weeks. Unfortunately that means I won't be able to make it to Philly to cheer on Baggs, Lora & her sis

Amy & Ron - have a blast in Vegas

I've got some Garnet and Black I'll send your way, if you want. heh. Speaking of college football, what a year to start watching the Gamecocks....I got the pleasure of watching Stephen Garcia implode up-close and personal! How *anyone* gets FIVE chances is beyond me. Thank goodness he's gone, and Connor Shaw is handling things ok for someone fairly inexperienced. Bruce Ellington is supposed to be back in the lineup tomorrow against Arkansas, and I've loved watching him run the wildcat offense! Lots of fun. Let's just hope we can put together TWO solid halves of play, rather than one.

Happy birthday Voo! Miss you, friend. I'm going to try to do 40 minutes of *something* when I get back from working at the library this afternoon....and NOT 40 minutes of studying!

I've been MIA, and I always say I'm going to do better, but holy crow there's a TON of reading in grad school! Good news is, I'm carrying three A's right now....and hoping to hang on to them for the rest of the semester. Something like 5 weeks to go....ooof.

morning peeps.

I am SICK. Finally succombed on Wed and went home during the day, had a low fever on and off Wed into Thurs. Called in again this morning, although I'm actually feeling a bit better. Fever's gone and I've been diligent about taking care to not let my cough trigger my asthma, so that's good.

CONGRATS MOONIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And go NYC Marathoners this weekend!

Have fun in LVNV, Amy and Ron!

Since I'm not feeling great, but I get Penny back from DexH today, I'm going to try to take her for a 40 min walk in honor of Voo's birthday.

Take care of your feets, heels, ankles, legs, backs, etc....Prae, Bard, Kev, Dr T, Kath, Ailerie, and anyone else I'm forgetting!

Hang in there Lora ((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))))

Hey guys.

I've got to do a quick fly-by here. (((((((((((((((((( sickies and injured folks )))))))))))))))))))))))) My apologizes for the blanket hug, but I'm afraid I'll miss someone.

Rawr to Maureen for an interview! Go chica go!

I'm sure there's other stuff I should mention here, but everything is a blur. The fact that I have a programmer yakking away in my headset is not helping things here, either :)

I love the way that the group is trying to all do something Voo-ish this weekend to honor our friend. He is still very much missed, and I feel his presence will always be felt with this group. Even if we're all still talking when we're in our 60's and 70's (which I'd personally love), I think we're going to reminisce about caveman outfits, dreadlocks, drinking beer, and key phrases such as "Have bat. Will Travel", and "I reckon" :)

Good luck Moe!

Good afternoon,

So happy to hear that Moonie is that much closer to Ohio! Congrats.

Good luck Maureen!

Quiet day today. I let my kids talk me into postponing an exam scheduled for Monday to Wednesday, so I have even less on my plate now. I guess that means I'll just have to leave early! :) Well, my hallway is pretty much empty since a conference is going on, so I don't even think anyone would miss me.
