The time draws near for Round 7 to begin.<br><br>
Just as in baseball we have pitchers and catchers reporting first, in the Virtual Race we ask for captains to sign up first.<br><br>
When Round 6 began, roots asked for volunteers to become team captains. I was nervous. I shouldn't have been. It is easy and fun.<br><br><b>Officially</b>, your responsibilities will be to read through the daily reporting threads, verify that your teammates have correctly calculated their points, and make sure they have entered those points into the scoring database. Correcting most scoring mistakes, in my experience, caused my team to <i>gain</i> points, so you are having a very positive impact.<br><br><b>Unofficially</b>, you are a focal point for your team and an interface for your team with the commish.<br><br>
Captains will also have a <span style="text-decoration:underline;">new, extremely cool, added responsibility</span>, which will take very little time and be easily and quickly accomplished. More on this later.<br><br>
If this round is anything like this round, we will need a lot of captains. I'd like each team to have 2 if possible.<br><br>
