Veterans: Note that I've added a new level to the scale. Titanium badass is for players averaging the running equivalent of 70 miles, or 280+ points per week.

The purpose of this scale is our attempt to produce evenly divided teams.

At registration, be prepared to provide your level of basassery expected for the next round (currently scheduled for January 2008.)

VRAA levels of badassery

How many points do you earn? Look in this thread for the scoring table. When you sign up, please place yourself in one of the following categories. Make your best guess about what you'll average over the course of the next several weeks and categorize yourself accordingly. You won't be punished if you end up doing more or less (do keep in mind that all the non-running points add up; a lot of cross-trainers and multi-sporters tend to underestimate their productivity).

(1) Titanium Badass: A cut above the rest. You average 70 running mpw or the equivalent, earning 280+ VRAA points per week.

(2) Mega Super Badass: You're a sizzling chunk of aerobic machinery, earning roughly 200 points per week or more. You run 50+ miles per week, or run 40+ miles per week plus bike 25ish miles per week, or bike 135 miles per week, or walk a 9.5 mile mail delivery route every day plus run like a beast in your free time, etc.

(3) Super Badass: You're hot & sassy. You run 30-50 mpw or the equivalent, earning 120-200 VRAA points per week.

(4) Badass: You are the backbone of the VRAA. No team can win without a solid core of Badassery. You run 15-30 mpw or the equivalent, racking up 60-120 VRAA points per week.

(5) Badass in Training: Maybe you're in one of them long tapers, or you're aspiring to badassery, or you're really busy right now, or you're crosstraining through an injury. Whatever. We love you for who you are, and I respect you for what you do. And what you do is this: earn 0-60 VRAA points weekly for your team. That's up to 15 mpw running, or 40 mpw on a bike, or 6000 yards of swimming, or a few good days at the gym lifting weights and/or tooling around on them machines. To get closer to the low end up the point range, simply up the Cheetos consumption.

Well, I'm new to KR (refugee from CR, but don't hold that against me, OK? ) - but looking forward to the sign up thread in three days!

Hmmm... my weekly running mileage is in the mid-60s (working Pfitz 24/70 plan and am just finishing week 6, or is it 7?, right now) - and I weight train (four times, in a good week, one hour each session).

Oh yeah and I have three races in that time frame too - local 7.5 mile trail race, the Goofy Double and a 28 mile Fat Ass (do Fat Asses count as races?) - so there's some "bonus points".

So... that makes me a Titanium Badass right?!

This is the part where you all say "Welcome to KR, kestrou!"

Okay, so with the pregnancy, my badass level must be an estimate. Because I'm sure as hell not doing what I used to, but I really don't know what I'll be able to consistantly do. Will people not get too mad if I under/overperform? I really have no basis to judge against other than my doctor saying never to go until I get tired. This is my first, so... it's guess work.

Bullshit - Steve's a Titanium Bad Ass if there ever was one!

Welcome to KR buddy, not as populated as the old CR, but a lot more action than the new CR...
