The Hoyts have an amazing story! The son has (I think) Cerebral Palsy and has no real use of his body. His mind is brilliant...even has a college degree.

Dad has raced w/his son in numerous Boston Marathons and Ironmen competitions.

For the swim he pulls him on a raft.
For the bike he sits him on the front.
For the run he pushes him in a chair.

Simply AMAZING!!!!

There is a competition on Verses, toughest athlete...please vote for them if you think they're worthy!!!!
http://campain08.versus.com/toughest.php

As if they weren't impressive enough, they run Boston because the qualify by time. In order to be "fair" they qualify for the son's time.

Thanks guys! Anyone have the YouTube link? There's a feature up about them from a few years back that brings me to TEARS watching it!

I raced alongside them for a few miles of the Run 4 New Years' Day race in 2005. After blowing by me around mile 3, they ended up finishing 2 minutes ahead of me. At the finish Dick shook my hand, and thanked me for "racing" with him. I chatted with them a bit, and admittedly I was a bit starstruck. Their legend here in Massachusetts was well known to me even before I was a runner.

The Hoyts are amazing, and Dick is one of the most gracious, humble people I've had the pleasure to meet. You can read more about them here.
