Hello all:

The time is near to organize for the next round of the VRAA. We intend to begin soon after the new year. I anticipate a record number of participants and I will need assistants.

To that end, I am asking for volunteers again. If you are interested in one of the following positions, please let me know by posting here, or via PM to me:

- Team captains: The bread-and-butter of our volunteer corps. Similar to last round, captains have the responsibility to tally team scoring and report results to the Commissioner.

- Creative writer/ leaderboard reporter: I'm looking for 1-2 reporters to deliver a once-per-week article of VRAA happenings as it pertains to scoring, accomplishments, and reporting of the leaderboard. There is latitude for creativity and it is a goal to include as many people as possible in your weekly report. Ideally, this position will provide their report/update on the same day every week.

- Scoring/Data manager: This position will take the existing scoring format (currently in MS excel) and design a database that fits the needs of the VRAA. The current format is simple input of one variable per day, per person. This candidate will be able to design multiple output reports to support the commissioner and leaderboard reporters.

- Commissioner-in-training: This candidate has played in the VRAA for multiple rounds and is interested in leading one or more future rounds of the game. I will take nominations from those who have already, or presently are, volunteered for the VRAA.

- Travel committee: I'm looking for anyone who is interested in working aside the commissioner on the VRAA route. The idea is to create a map, with waypoints along the route, for participants to follow along their teams' progress. In early VRAA rounds, we had different participants "host" their respective home city as the VRAA came rolling through.

If you are interested in getting involved with the VRAA, please let me know. We're going to get started again soon.

Sincerely,
And kruss, you really ought to take claim to your winnings from the last round. Go to your user CP and change your well-deserved title!

I am willing to be a captain. It isn't too time-consuming, is it? My spring semester is much easier prep time wise, so I think I could swing it.

I want to be a captain too.

And I promise to be an asshole of a captain. If you sign up and get placed on my team and do not perform to Y-O-U-R own self designated category because of laziness or "life" getting in the way, or some other excuse I deem to be bullshit, I will call you on it. I expect my team to do the same to me if I fail to meet expectations.

And by call you on it, I mean in our team thread, in the VRAA Forum itself, the PRT, PM, and if you visit coolrunning, expect a call out from a certain activelicksmyballsack person.

I might even show up to your damn home and make you run with me.

Thanks guys, I don't know if i should be flattered or worried, either you want to be on my team to be yelled or to yell at me, yikes!!

I know teams are assigned randomly, to make an even point split for what everyone chose. I'm not even sure if I'll be selected to be a captain but the VRAA really motivated me last round. The upcoming round's last day is on my first marathon ever so I just want everyone who signs up to be serious and not be a flake, that's all.

But I do reserve the right to show up to your house if you're not meeting expectations.

Antag,

You know how you'll go by an aid station or, if a road race, spectators and they'll all clap and say "looking good" and "keep it up" - well that's NOT what motivates me!

Everybody in my local running club knows that I don't like that kind of stuff - so they get a real kick out of "changing mental cheering gears" when I come by an aid station so they can give me shit while cheering positive affirmations at everybody else!

And me and my brother are just BRUTAL to each other when running together "You call that running? Momma ain't out here to wipe your ass and do your running for you, boy - pick it up!" or, my favorite, which is "Awwww, does your pussy hurt?!"

So, yeah, I can take it - but I can dish it out too!!!
