Hi All:

Below should be a link to my very long race report from the Volstate Race, 314 miles across Tennessee in July. It took me almost 8 days to complete and left me completely spent. Read on if you so desire. There's probably way more information in the report than you ever wanted to know about the race or me.

All the best,

As an ultrarunner, you know that the idea of doing a race gets under your skin and you just get carried away with the need to do it. For me, that ended up in a tour of Tennessee in July. Obsession and the ability to romanticize the challenge have a lot to do with it. It's not so romantic when you're limping along and dodging another dead armadillo along the shoulder. But Gary Cantrell has a way of sucking people into his races. He has quite a following.

What a great report. I am so impressed with your feat and how you held up on your feet. And I am truly impressed because I know at Badwater what got me thru was just listening to my crew talk at the end to take my mind off, you did not have that, and that could definitely take you to a dark place. You just did so well. I would like to one day do this race, but the time, etc, is just too much for me to ask of anyone, maybe when DD is much older, who knows.

Now what will you do next? :) And do you have pictures? DId you talk to John Price at all at three days at the fair? nicest guy ever.
