Another thread prompted me to ask how Vegetarian Times has been doing these days. A while back they changed editors to someone that was trying to bring it more mainstream. I think maybe an ex-editor of a Redbook-like publication. She was horrible. The ads and articles were horrible. At the time there was a mass exodus of subscribers of which we were a part. I'm thinking about trying it again this year.

Opinions from New veg folks and long-time veg folks?

i've been a constant subscriber since the early 1990's. The ads are meh sometimes, but overall, the content is not bad. I have found that i make less and less from those magazines, but i still enjoy reading them and looking at the pictures. Veggie Life is good, but i think quarterly?

I've been making recipes from VT lately and they've been good. I buy the magazine more for the recipes than the articles. This month features a bunch of soups. I made the French potage last week and it was awesome. I plan to try the others -- perfect time of year for it!

I'm a recent subscriber. I have to admit that I'm a little surprised at how little of the magazine is devoted to vegetarian eating and how much is geared toward living a green lifestyle... and geared towards selling you expensive products to help you live that way.
