Fruit Kanten is a Japanese dessert and a good vegan jello-like dessert option. <img alt="smile.gif" src=""><br><br><br>
4 cups organic and unsweetened apple juice<br>
1/4 cup agar flakes<br>
pinch sea salt<br>
1/4 cup brown rice syrup<br>
1/4 cup kuzu<br>
1 cup of fresh or frozen fruit (raspberries, slices strawberries, etc)<br><br><br>
In a sauce pan bring 3.5 cups of juice, brown rice syrup, salt and agar to a boil. Simmer 10 minutes. Thoroughly dissolve kuzu and 1/2 cup juice to dissolve the kuzu. Add to pan and bring to a boil, stirring continuously to prevent clumping. Stir in fruit and boil for 2 more minutes continuing to stir. It should get glossy and thick like gravy.<br>
Remove from heat and put into individual serving cups. Let stand for at least one hour, can refrigerate as well.
