I have a yam, or a sweet potato-whatever, and I was going to have a scoop of cottage cheese on top of it and a side of broccoli.

This isn't sounding very appetizing. But I'm determined to eat this damn yam.

How would you eat it?

that is generally how i eat them! Sometimes i eat them for breakfast, i cut them about 1/2 inch rounds, spray with oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper, wrap in tin foil, bake at 400F for 45 minutes then take to work and eat when i get in. YUMMY. Just perfect!

I hope your yam was tasty without the embellishments, Bux. I bake mine on a lower heat (300) for a LONG time ( up to 2 hours) until they're oozing with goodness. It caramelizes the insides, makes the skin crunchy, and then all I add is some Bragg's liquid amino acids, and occassionally a bit of butter.

Most of the time I smash 'em up and add a little salt and pepper and I'm good... But sometimes I add a little applesauce and cinnamon when I'm smashing them. Yum. I've also done the "baked like fries" method.
