<p>DH and I have moms at 85+ yrs of age...both (widows) live within 10 miles of us/are still driving/independent/comfortably, still in their own homes</p>

<p>over the past year, we've seen them declining physically as well as somewhat in cognitive abilities....not unexpected, but still uncomfortable to see your parents in this light</p>

<p>ya know, the lunch/coffee conversations with all of my friends no longer revolve around our kidlettes</p>
<p> </p>
<p>instead, we all discuss the current levels of independence...or dependence...of our respective 80+ yr old parents</p>
