A while back I asked about replacing my 9 speed 105 shifter (the right one) because I was told it was failing. Well, I've lived with it for a while and finally got a 3rd opinion, and this last guy hesitated, but after messing with it, he thinks it may be the shifter.

Someone posted a website where I can get one (or a pair). I'm pretty sure it was a UK site. I just didn't save it! Help!

That was me - and Wiggle was one of the places. Not sure how valid the links are any more though....

You can get 9 speed Ultegra shifters for $275 shipped (Wiggle); or 9 speed Tiagra for $170 or if you want to go budget (if trading up in 1-2 years) - Sora for $118 (Ribble).

Thank you!! Yes, it was wiggle. I'll look there and the other places. I did find a right used shifter on ebay for $75, but if I could find one new, that would be even better. Might not be possible. With some adjustments and careful shifting, the noise has lessened.

I do have to say when I took my bike in for a tune up (for the first time since I've owned for 4 years), he said everything looked really good. He said since my drivetrain didn't need much, they will probably true the wheels, which is not something they usually do with a tune up. Woo Hoo! He was impressed at how clean my bike was (even though it was pretty dirty when I took it in). Makes me feel like I really take care of my bike. :) That's why I haven't taken it in for a tune-up. I want to get the cables, brakes, and wheels and other stuff checked, though.

Well, looks like they don't have them anymore. Oh well. I may just pick up one used one. If it works, then it will be better than mine. My only other option is to upgrade everything. I don't want to go down to Tiagra. Since I'm looking at new tri bikes, I've got to watch the budget right now, so I'm not ready to upgrade everything. That's what I'll do eventually, though.

Thanks Reg!! I'll save the sites for future reference.

Hmmmm....not sure I want to spend that much if I'm going to have to switch everything over to 10 speed in the future. I'm just wanting to get something to last me a year or so. I'll think about it. Thanks!

Son1 is in the same boat. He trashed his left (Ultegra ) and having trouble finding a 9 replacement. He's just going to bite the bullet and go with a 10.

Yeah, 4BM, eventually I'll just have to switch it all over, but I'm not wanting to do that just yet. I'm still wavering on a tri bike or a new road bike or some other option. So, I'd rather just get it working for now. I looked into replacing everything with 10, and it gets pricey, especially when I decided to also upgrade from 105 to Ultegra. ;)
