This thing on? Well, the race is on...officially. Yes, it's still Thursday over there in the Colonies, but it's already Friday Aug 3 here in India.

Greetings teammates. A quick point of clarification for those of you who don't read or participate in the 30's thread. Currently, I'm on the tail end of a biz trip to India. Today [Friday] is our last day in the office and tomorrow morning, we begin the 30+ hour trip home that will eventually get me back to Birmingham, via Kochi - Doha - Washington DC - Birmingham.

Needless to say, Saturday will not be a productive running day for me, but I'm anxious to get back out on the road and off of the hotel treadmill. I plan to welcome myself back with a nice 15 - 17 miler on Sunday.

Let's kick some other insert letter team's ass!

Wish I traveled more with work, maybe one day...

Timr1 - Do you travel often for work?

Ok team U... Here's what comes from my lack of sleep and no desire to study one more bit.

Team U- Unstopable!

United together we’ll navigate these paths
Never giving up, always staying
Stronger than the tasks at hand, working
Together to achieve excellence and
Overcome any obstacle in our way, as we
Partake in this journey that will lead us to
Abilities beyond our own imaginations
Bodies the other teams will drool over
Laughter as we work our way along and
Endurance to see us through the road ahead

I know, I know... get some sleep Tiff!

Pretty much yes. I came to work at my current company shortly after I got married and I've been traveling for work ever since. That's been 12 years ago. My travels have taken me all over the US and Europe, but this is my first time to India.

Usually, I'll travel 2 - 3 times per month, and 2/3rds of my travel is just from Birmingham up to the Baltimore/DC area where our company's HQ is located (Columbia Maryland to be exact).

Travel is like anything else...you seem to have to take a lot of the bad in order to get the good. But, it is something that you can get used to and make routine. I sleep great in hotels. Couldn't have survived this long if I couldn't. I actually enjoy airplane travel...I don't enjoy delays or getting stranded in a city, but it's part of the trade. My family has totally benefitted from the literally millions of freq flyer miles and hotel points that I have accumulated over the years. For example, I burned 250,000 Delta miles to get 5 round trip tickets to Halifax, NS last summer for a family wedding.

What kind of work do you do?

Baltimore/DC area is great... nice little Irish pub named O'sheas that I might have spent a little too much time at once upon an April...

My very favorite T-shirt came from that area, from the ESPN zone. I tore it soon after I got home. It said, YES, YES, YES... Yes, I'm a woman, Yes I know the game, Yes I watch ESPN. I digress...

I can see where having a job that has you traveling so often can have it's pros and cons. I love to travel, I love to fly and if someone said let's go to kalamazoo nowhere I'd say; sure, never been there, let's go! So far the only places I've been out of the states are Cali, Colombia and a night side trip to Costa Rica because my plane left late from New Orleans.

I recently started working as a nurse in an NICU. (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) One day, after I obtain more experience and the timings right, I hope to do travel nursing.

How's everyone doing in this heat? It's actually a COOL 83 degrees here in Central WI this afternoon. This a.m. I had a nice run, still sweat like 10 whole men. At least no gnats drowned on my face this time. Yuk-O! But I only managed to get in 3 and i have 6 on my traning schedule so I'll either hit the mill tnoight for 3 more or else I'll suck it up and get out there and Just Do It!

Happy trails teammates - stay cool and stay hydrated!
