Volunteering at the Alexandria turkey trot 5 this morning. Data entry of paper registration forms. Looks like I just finished up my job so now I can get out on the course and cheer some of my buds on.

Good luck to today's turkey trotters. Mr jebba elected to go jogging with me this morning. What a treat! 2.4 miles, with a smidge of walking.

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm posting from my campsite outside Best Buy... err... no. I avoid the shops like the plague.

So I managed to run 18:13 at my local 5k turkey trot. That's a 2 second PR. Still it was not good enough to win my AG... that guy was 2 seconds ahead of me from 1/2 mile to the finish. Just couldn't close the distance so 2nd AG will have to do. Splits were approx 5:48, 5:52; 5:55. Felt good but had no kick. DW run 21:50 or so and was 1st in her AG. Not bad off no race specific training for either of us.

Just back home after a couple busy days. Headed to a Turkey Trot this morning. Enjoyed visiting with team mates. Shocker of shockers--son1 showed up. He had left at 3am to make it in time to race. Nuthin' like a little 85mi spin as a warm up for a 5K. I had a decent little trot, focused on catching my team mate. For the life of me, I just couldn't catch her. Very happy with my race, posting a 24:25, a season PR. Son1 didn't have nearly the race he had hoped for, but nothing to be ashamed of. At the finish we looked for our team mate to see how far ahead she had finished. And then we saw her coming into the chute. Yep! I beat her!!! Results took forever, but certainly worth waiting for. Perfect season. 1st AG.

Son1 and I will be riding back up to Grandma's tomorrow, returning Saturday. Son1 is getting very close to 5000miles for the season.
