Actually, I don't know that it is, or will be. Haven't heard the weather yet - that Cure song just popped into my head when I was trying to think what day it is.

Up too late last night. Couldn't get up to run. pffththt.

Fun:

Greetings, all!

Kath - Cool S&P shakers. I haven't seen those from you before!

I"m up to head to the dealership this morning. My civic's AVS light seems to be permanently on, and it shouldn't be. I'm not noticing any difference in steering, so it may be something as simple as a switch that's malfunctioning. At least they have Wifi there, so I can somewhat stay on top of work that comes in.

4.25 on the Tm last night with the new wave riders. Man, they are stiff, but (1) my calves are pretty tight from returning to running anyway and (2) I think all mizunos are kind of stiff during the break in pattern. I'll give them another try tonight or tomorrow.

Spaghetti squash is for supper tonight! (Meant to be last night, but I forgot to pop the thing in the over BEFORE my run, and by the time I finished the run, there just wasn't enough time, unless I wanted to be eating at 8:45pm. (and I refuse to nuke it and deal with my food getting cold after 2 minutes!)

Hope everyone has a good day!

Good morning!

Interesting day at my work yesterday, and more stuff to come. As I don't like to put my work life on a public board, I'll have to leave it at that.

Lots to get done today, so I have to stay away from the computer... well, more than I do some days

morning

Boot camp was hard again. There is basically just me and another woman who always show up so the personal trainer has been ramping it up. The worst thing he has us to is a TRX (I think - some kind of suspension trainer thing) rows for 1 min followed by a minute of push ups. You do that 3 times in a row. I seriously think I am going to break my face on the push ups. I think last night, I ended up getting in 65 or so in the 3 sets.

Interval work out tonight. I am hoping for about 9-10 miles. We have 5 min @ interval, 10 min at tempo and then 5 x 1 min hard/easy and then 20 min GRP.

Good morning, ladies. I hope everybody is well today.

Cute work as always, Kath!

Ailarie, my 2001 Nissan always has some light or another on. The Check Engine light was on for a year and a half, and I just let it go until I had to go to vehicle inspection. I got that taken care, passed the inspection, and then a couple weeks later my ABS light came on. I haven't noticed anything different, so I've just let it slide for the last 6 months or whatever. I suppose I'll take care of it if I still have the car when it needs its next inspection in 2013. I think these lights often come on for no reason. If you don't notice any change in the performance of the vehicle, it's probalby not necessary to deal with it. (That's not any kind of professional advice, just my personal uninformed opinion. )

No workout for me yesterday. I took the day to rest. So I'll run something today before I have to pick up the kiddo. I'm hoping that I'm ready for a long-ish run by the weekend. By "long-ish", I mean double digit miles. I haven't done that in ages...

Duh moment of my day. Just as I was pulling out of my driveway, I decided to check the legend for the warning signal/icon on the dashboard again. Apparently there are two warning signals that look kind of similar. Both have a yellow-orange ! sign, with the difference being what surrounds that symbol. I misread that my AVS was out of whack. In reality.. apparently my biggest problem is that I have a tire that's low on air pressure somewhere ><

Glad I figured that out before driving to the dealership, at least. Hmph. I'm at work now, and will consult my owners manuals and paperwork that came with the vehicle, since I couldn't find a reference to the PSI on the tires, themselves.

Ailarie - tire inflation information is on the inside of the driver side door frame.

Morning, all.

This morning's conversation at work started with a recap of weather events yesterday, and some how evolved in to a discussion of cold war drills and this watch tower:

http://www.cromwell-intl.com/security/history/dl3g/

My friend who immigrated here from Russia told us that in the mid-eighties, this was one of the first places their friends took them to see. Of course, she remembers having the opposite drills in Russia.

I'm trying to wrap my head around it being mid-November already. Anyone else struggling with that? Just me? Ok.

Cute S&P shakers, Kath. And I love that the pig is peeping into the frame as well.

Ailarie, when my tire pressure light comes on, I drive to the dealer and have them fill up the tires for free. Jiffy Lube and most other places will do it for free too (in my experience). Walking from one class to another last week, I noticed that there is a air fill-up station for bike tires on campus. I thought that was pretty cool.

clare, I have that experience every day. At this time of year, it's so hard to resist that urge. Hope you feel better as the day goes on.

Brandy, when you talk about your fitness experiences, I get really scared. I've decided that when I move, I'm going to join a gym and hire a personal trainer. I really need it, but it sounds like torture. I'm still going to do it.

I want to go back to bed.

Kp - Thanks! Yepyep! There is in fact a sticker with that info. 32PSI for me!

Prae - Smooth suggestion! If i were close to the dealership, I'd definitely prefer that they get the tire pressure just right. No doubt! However, as they're about 30 minutes away, I'll take my car 1 block away to a gas station and (provided their line is working properly) add air there. Note to self: Yeah, you REALLY should have purchased a tire gauge earlier, kiddo! :) Then you could at least figure out which tire is the culprit before trying to add air in the first place.

Maybe I'll head to wal-mart (also 2 blocks away) and pick up a tire gauge first, use it to figure out which tire is low (none of them look to be) and then just address it. Yeah.. that would probably be the most logical approach!

So much stuff, so little time. I hope things are well.

Good to see the news about Brandy's mom. And Clare has the most beautiful smile! I bet you were the most gorgeous Canadian NYC has ever seen! Good job vibes for KJ. Loved the little man in his tux! And the snowman shakers are adorable!

Ugh. Woke up with a migraine starting around 4:40am. Took a pill, but couldn't fall back asleep, so at 5am I got out for a 6 mile run in the dark. Headache is still lingering... and we had parent visitation this morning. Awesome!

I'm behind with the happenings here, but it sounds like some good stuff for Brandy's mom. Maria, how's your dad? Good luck to Bob's mom, too.

Litch - I think you asked about the Kayanos yesterday or the day before? We already have the 18's at our store (they only went out to specialty stores -- all other places will have them in Jan, I think). With my headache, and the fact that I'm now working with the 17's vs. the 18's, I'm blanking on what the differences might be between the 16's and 17's. I believe there was an issue with the widths -- in other words, you may be a 2E in one, but need the regular width in the other. But I forget which one was wider... and now that I'm saying that, it could be between the 17/18's. Sorry.

Kp, hang in there!

Fidat - hope the work stuff settles down.

Kath - cool shakers!

I'm gonna go put my head on my desk for the last 5 minutes of lunch...

Saw a portion of an interview with Coach K and Bobby Knight last night. Good stuff.

Tire light - mine comes on every year around this time as the temps start dipping. Had DH check them though and they are only slightly under. I'll wait until it gets colder before I add any air.

Not much else going on here.... No run b/c I had to get into work early. I am going to start getting back at it next week more seriously though.

Brandy - totally forgot this: super great news about your mom.

QOD: first goal for 2012 is to just get back to running...after that I'm not sure if I'm going to try for a PR in HM or possibly run a full in the fall. Gotta see how the first few months of the year go.

QOD - Find the space inside me again that enjoys running. I have been so sick of it for long enough that I need to just figure out if I still like this thing. If I don't love the longer distances anymore, I will transition full time to tri's...so, you know, still running some.
