Morning!

Butt tape and 3 miles. And we took Dh's car in for repair. Please don't let it be the transmission.

Ron, my blog is here, and I've got a fan page (Sherwood Inn Pottery) on facebook. Since I picked up the wood fired s&p's in the midst of the whole Jack/Gus thing, I haven't had a chance to get those photos up. You can see lots of other stuff though, especially if you look back through old posts.

I need to shower & get to work.

Fun: college roomie is coming tonight. She and her husband will stay tonight, head up to Frankenmouth tomorrow, and then come back tomorrow night again to stay.

Good morning!

I wish I was still in bed. Oof.

RIL, thanks for asking. I was a little to aggressive with my return to activity and just now I am back to sitting more and walking less. I'll do this for ~3 weeks and then progress back to some walking. I am with Duckie, probably not going to be back to running until the new year. So for now, just ADL and a little biking and swimming.

We have several folks with races soon... so does everyone have their A-Goal and B-Goals set????

Good morning. Quick turn around today so i'm back at work. Had to do this in order to get the rest of the week off - AK and I are headed back to CA tomorrow for a wedding. We'll be there til sunday and my mom will fly back w/ us so I only have to get through tomorrow's flight by myself. Still, any smooth flying with a toddler vibes are appreciated!

Congrats to brandy and mindi!
3:43!!? You crazy girl. That is what coach said my 10 miler predicted but I am not feeling that fast.

First hurdle: break 4 - unless we have a hot day or I get hurt during the race, this should be a given

Second hurdle - do what I've been training for: 3:50

Final: anything close to 3:45 would be freaking amazing..

figures...just as I am getting faster and approaching BQ for my upcoming age bracket jump, they are changing it on me!

Uh.. more like 2:15:00, if that. I don't think I'll make this time around, but I'm still gonna shoot for it. 1:59:00 though? I think I'd be puking halfway through the race :)

Missy, thanks for that! I can't see it happening, though. I'm hoping for a 4:30 in NYC. I've only ever run one marathon before (the year before I had Lena) and that was 4:55. I'd like to think I'm a way better runner now than I was then. But I guess you never really know, right? If I can beat that previous one I'll be happy.

I can't see me running another marathon until the girls are old enough to look after themselves, though. I just don't have the time to devote to this as much as I'd like. Like today, I'm supposed to run 13 miles. I can't do that at 5 AM, just can't. And that's when I'd have to do it in order to get it done before work/kids to daycare/etc. So that leaves after work. And DH is on 3-11 today. So either I run it with the kids in the Chariot (I don't think any of us would be impressed with that) or I try and find someone to watch them while I run. Which leads to guilt that I didn't see them all day and won't see them all evening. *sigh*

Katholeenie, I loved the pics and story about the kiln. So neat. So where is it? In someone's yard?

Nothing like having your boss call out a blemish. I have a pimple on my neck, I've been getting one every month since I got heat rash early this summer. It's not overly huge or anything but my boss just said (very loudly) mind you... what did you do to your neck? I'm like what the hell are you talking about?

yeah it's my friendly neck blemish.

Hey, all. Went to the chiropractor for the first (and second) time yesterday. Of course, he's young, hot, muscled, and married. Anyhow, he x-rayed me and just couldn't believe what my back looked like. I'm taking a CD in tomorrow and having them burn me the pictures so I can post them. My spine looks insane. Anyhow, he thinks I've had undiagnosed scoliosis for years, and we can't figure out what I did to make my back look the way it does. Nothing I told him explained it to him. At any rate, I'm in a treatment plan. He doesn't think he'll be able to straighten my spine back to 100%, but he can help me. He said that I'm about 1.75" off center and he can probably help correct about half of that. He's going to give me exercises to strengthen my core and says that I should be back to full functionality soon. Though I won't be 100%, I'll be able to exercise, train, etc. without incident. Now to shed the tonnage...

Ok, here's my digression for the morning...I couldn't believe how sexual some of the adjustments were. Not in a creepy way, but just unexpected. The one in particular that I'm thinking of involved me hugging myself, him giving me a bear hug-type thing and then he said, "Now, we just both going to lie down together" which we kinda did. So, I'm in the arms of a stranger and we're lying down on a flat surface together. Of course, I'm not implying that there was anything inappropriate, but the whole time, I'm thinking it's just weird. Maybe this just proves how little action I've been getting recently. I really felt like I should have used a breath mint and shaved my legs before showing up.

Morning all.

Not much going on around here. Stupid humidity - all of our window screens were dripping with water this AM. Will run later. For the next 2 weeks, DS will be at his rehearsals until 8 so I am planning on running after work, then going to get him.

QOD - just get out there consistently, and avoid injury\back issues.

Tim - thought you would find this amusing. DS #1 is trying out for jazz band. The audition song - Crazy Train. Yes, the Ozzy song

QOD- A goal: regularly run 6 mile long runs by the end of the year. B goal: regularly run 4 mile long runs by the end of the year. Both involve running more than just on Saturdays, which I'm trying to get going, and for those long runs to feel reasonably comfortable. I'm not worried about pace just yet. Either one sets me up to start real training after the start of the year for a spring HM.

Prae - that is crazy your back is so messed up - sorry to hear it. At least your chiro is hot if he has to give you sexay treatments.

GOALS! My "A" goal isn't really a set number. It is: go out at a 3:25 pace (my main goal) and then run a negative split, so I am under 3:25. "B" goal = PR (sub 3:26:12); "C" goal = negative split; "D" goal (if things fall apart) = BQ; "E" goal = finish.

I ran 4 easy peasy miles this morning. Had to get up EARLY to do it though b/c DH had to leave for work really early. HR was kind of high and my hammies were yelping at me a little. This must mean I am settling right into taper mode. Lost another pound too! Woot! I don't know why, but I always drop 2-3 lbs just during the last 2 weeks of taper. I love me some taper. :)
