Up at the crack of dawn without alarm clock... body must be getting back to normal.

Off for an hour in the pain cave watching Alexander doing 3x15 z1/2 sets and such for 1 hour total. Simple easy stuff, just pushing the body back into normal.

Busy, so right to it...

5.65 mile run early this morning. Having hammy issues (related to chronic lower back) since Sunday. Don't think I'll be able to race on Thanksgiving. We'll see.

Landed at Newark Airport last night at 11:20PM, got home in Pennsylvania at 1:15AM and I think I finally fell asleep by 2:00AM. I was up and out of bed at 6:30AM (4:30AM Arizona time) so I could get showered and into work.

Today is going to be a complete and utter day of rest for me, as was yesterday. I will be eating a big ass bacon cheese burger for lunch with some of my running buddies from work. I am feeling OK, a little pit in my stomach today, but I think that is due to my lack of sleep last night.

Heat wave here in Prudhoe Bay Alaska, it's 32 degrees at 7 in the morning!

10.2 miles in 1:15 on the treadmill this morning. After a 15 min warm-up I varied the incline from 0% to 4% to stimulate hills. Did long ones (1 mi) and rolling (sets of 0.1 mi). Kept the pace moderate on the 'uphill'.

Have a great day everyone!

Heather - have a safe trip! Woohooo!!

Matt - sheet of ice? Yikes. BTW, thanks for your reply to my questions yesterday.

7mile run under sunny, windy condition. Legs felt amazingly light. So of course ran at no-man's land intensity. Felt great. Looking forward to the Jingle Bell 5K in a few weeks.

Swim later.

After work run group run. I have my girls set to do their 1st non stop run today. 5 minute walk 20 minute run 5 minute walk. I also convinced them to do it outside because it may rain on race day and we need to know what it feels like to run in the rain. Luckily so far the rain has stopped

Yeah, well last time I checked there were no polar bears or rabid foxes roaming around in Oregon. I'd also have to dodge red-neck Texans in pickup trucks, but I'm pretty sure those exist even in Oregon. I'll stick with my treadmill when I'm up north, thank you very much!

I suppose curious deer, angry Canada geese, and texting soccer moms aren't as bad a$$ in comparison. Though I do get the odd angry ******* in a pickup truck. Those guys are turds when I'm running but great when I'm biking. Must be the spandex....

Finally able to post...did about 3.25m with the wonder dog at lunchtime. Probably going to take tomorrow off to rest up for Thursday's 10K. Looking forward to this race - I realized I've never done a 10K, so should be fun!
