Morning all,</p>

<br><br><span>I'm back home now. We got landed a little before 7 last night and made it over to our friend's house to pick up the kiddos. It was a great trip to New York. DW had a great time and meeting up with everyone was a blast. Maria, and Missy were our gracious NYC hosts. Colleen and Dave were super fun to hang out with too, and we did a bit of a mashup kind of thing with my other friends from Bham along with the PacerChris family too. Good times.</span></div>
<div class="quote-container"> </div>
<div class="quote-container"><span>Litch's statement there pretty much describes my race too. I was 1:36 and change for the first half...I guess that puts my 2nd half at about 2:01.</span></div>
<div class="quote-container"> </div>
<div class="quote-container"><span>I remember everyone's posts on here about a race this big being too crowded. I was optimistic that that wouldn't be the case near the front, but I was dead wrong. I started in the 7th corral at Boston and in that scenario, even in the crowd, after a couple of miles, you could pretty much go whatever pace you wanted and after 10 miles, there were open road to work with. </span></div>
<div class="quote-container"> </div>
<div class="quote-container"><span>Micah and I managed to work our way up to very near the front of the Blue Wave start...that's the start with the elite men. We could see the stage where Mary introduced the men and the cannon was just to our right. It probably didn't take us more than 2 mins to get over the line after the gun went off. The start was awesome.</span></div>
<div class="quote-container"> </div>
<div class="quote-container"><span>We were immediately boxed in though. We wanted 7:20 - 7:30 for the first mile, but we got 8:17. We flew down the other side of the bridge in 6:56. I'll save you all the details for now (in case I write some kind of race report). But what then proceeded to happen was full contact marathon racing for 10 miles. I was hellbent on making our splits at 7:10 but on that course with all those people and the starting and stopping and the bobbing and weaving, it just shredded me to pieces. By 11 I was toast. I backed off and cruised over the Queensboro bridge and got myself hyped up about seeing DW, Maria, Missy and Dave. At that point, my leg were cramping and I was trying to cruise at 8:20 pace. My stomach was big time upset too. Right after mile 18, I dove into a porta john, but it was a false alarm. From there it was a 9:00+ mpm pace death march to the finish. </span></div>
<div class="quote-container"> </div>
<div class="quote-container"><span>And then in NYCM tradition (that I didn't know about) after the finish, we had to walk to Westchester to pick up our bags.

</span></div>
<div class="quote-container"> </div>
<div class="quote-container"><span>My legs are totally shot today, quads ripped to pieces. I was cramping everytime I straightened my legs at dinner that night. But I got up to go to the Today show with DW and that was fun. She was all over the place meeting Ann and Al. She got on TV too.

<div class="quote-container"><span>And to top it all off, my family had a cold all last week, and I have it now. My throat is on fire and I slept like carp.</span></div>

<div class="quote-container"><span>I tried to keep up with the weekend and monday threads on my phone. I saw boBs awesome pics! Brandy raced and got sick? Hope you feel better. What else did I miss reading? </span></div>

<div class="quote-container"><span>Have a good Tuesday (feels like Monday to me). </span></div>
