Well, at least it is here. It has been raining like crazy the last few days and we are now supposed to get something like 30+ more hours of it.

I slept in this morning and will run later in the afternoon when it is hopefully a little warmer (higher 30s). We have no child care today (boys are on Spring Break) and unfortunately I have a fair bit of work today, so I am working at home. I also have a hearing at 9:45, but fortunately it is telephonic. I will go into the office to do it, but will bring the boys and have them hang out in my office while I camp out in a conference room. I hope they will be good.

Tim - I can't get over how great you look at the end - nice pic. And great advice to share with everyone.

Clare - woot! Nice work and congrats on the hardware!

Missy - glad to see you were inspired again - go get 'em! :)

An hour on the arc trainer this morning, using the Hills program. Not the planned workout, but a good substitute.

I heard the word BLIZZARD on the weather report this morning. Thankfully it wasn't for here, but I don't think anyone else wants that either.

"Telephonic". You don't hear that word very often...

I had a nice TM run last night: 11 miles in 90 minutes. But it kinda beat me up. Today my legs are sore and I'm sleepy as hell. It's gonna be a struggle to make it thru the workday today...

I'm back from vacation. What'd I miss? I saw Tim did his first ultra. Congrats!

I am SO ready to be done eating like crap and being lazy. Kicking off Grandma's training today. 5 miles in pouring rain.

Dome running tonight (thank goodness). It is scheduled to be a 60 min tempo run but we'll see how sore I am from the race this weekend. Might scale it back.

Morning all! Met up with my downtown bridges running peeps for a Tuesday edition of our loop, got 7.2 miles done in total. Nice morning, good temps but it'll all soon be ruined by more rain and maybe snain

I'm doing some speedy stuff later. Not sure what. May hit some 800's, may instead opt for a strong tempo. I think at this point, with the bridge run just a few weeks away, tempo is probably more effective.

I just saw this newsy story. Too bad. I guess I'm not in the competition for the heaviest runner anywhere. Well, I wonder about the heaviest person to ever complete an ultra... Hmmm...

Afternoon peeps

Completed day 20 of the 100 DC at lunch. Laced up the skates, put on the gloves and smacked a puck around in the large open area here in my office bldg. Was the first time in prolly 6 months Ive done that. Felt good although towards the end I was getting burned out in such a small area compared to a rink.

Missy Great job on the TM last night. Ive never run consistent 830s even back in the days when I ran on a regular basis.

Lora is that the Ben Franklin Bridge run? That would be cool and ass kicking all the same run for me LOL

So anyway, instead of that I"m going to change clothes and take the beastie for a walk. And hope it doesn't start to rain.

That sounds like fun, Frankie.

19 miles @ 8:50 pace on the rail trail today. I'm enjoying my stay cation, at least from an exercise standpoint. I'm sore as heck though and I didn't escape chafe-free thanks to my Darth runner utility belt.

Great job Duckie!!! I recently dealt with some sweet (not!) neck chafe thanks to a combo of my Camelback, necklace and shorts bra strap. M-Fer that burned!!

Woot - nice job Duck! Sounds like a good way to enjoy a staycation to me!

I'll join in on the chafe crew - I had a nasty burn on my chest from my HRM - forgot the body glide and it was raining - youch.

Woot - I just had an awesome run. It was raining these painful pellets and the winds were 20-25 mph, but my HR was low and I felt supah strong.

Not awful, just bothersome as I can't push off hard from my forefoot so I don't have a top gear, just a shuffle. I do walk like a 90 year old guy for the first 10 minutes of the morning though.

I'm more looking forward to seeing people than running the race. If I get to see Moe, Dan, JenRuns and hubby, Rochey, BHearn, Illeneforward, etc... then I'll have a great weekend regardless of anything that happens on race day!
