5.1 miles of windy wonderful weather.
This is the song I was singing on the way to the 0530 group:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4Z4Y...eature=related

OK, I'll start it today. Ran 4.6 miles at a progressive pace from high-9s to high-8s. About 22F and a stiff breeze from the west. At least I planned my route so the last half mile was a downgrade with the wind at my back.

OT: The Pacific Northwest really is different. Here in Michigan, our intrastate football rivalry pits the Wolverines against the Spartans, as in ferocious animals against a famous nation of warriors. So I turn on ESPN last Saturday and I see the Oregon instrastate rivalry featuring Ducks vs. Beavers. What's up with that? Makes me want to go out and hug a tree or something.

Good morning Rose. Hi, Roch. Nice runs. It's cold here, too, but much less windy. Better for biking. I was a stirred, not shaken, finntini. Planning a short run with hills this afternoon. Have a good day.

Greetings, Tuesday triumphers (?) and frigid frolickers.

I had one of those magical, effortless runs. Everything felt good, and right, and easy. If I had known, I would have done my track workout today.

Roch--nice run!

FF--hope your run later is great!

Millbot--gotta love those magical days!

TW--nothing wrong with NordicTrak, hope the hip gets better soon

8 miles for me this morning. Cold and windy here too, but I warmed up quick. Instead of strides I did fartleks . Also finished up with 2 hill repeats. I felt so strong today. The 5k we were to run tonight was postponed until next week. Judging by this morning's run, I think I would've nailed it!

Have a wonderful day! Off to the mall. Ho Ho Ho!!

Nordic-Trak feels good on wonky hips? Where do I catch one?
Rochrunner the USC vs UCLA rivalry pits an animal against a warrior also.
20 minutes of crunches (I may have a two pack!) and 20 minutes of wrestling with a sick cat.

Great workouts, all. I hope to get in 3 miles after work this afternoon and am posting here early to hope it motivates me to actually do it.

Hi everyone,
Sounds like some great running today and I'm happy to add my 3 miles to that. My legs felt strong and my breath eased out into a rhythm fairly quickly. I also did 1 mile of w/u and c/d in a brisk walk, plus lots and lots of stretching. Of course I looked like something the cat dragged in (beet red face, etc), but I felt good and that's the important thing.

Tomorrow's my "hell day" of ambulance duty starting at 6am but I'm hoping that I can do some spinning at home late tomorrow evening.

We have incredible winds today here and I hear that the west coast is practically underwater. Not good! Prayers for those on the westerly side of the US.

some nice early morning runs.....I think millbot just gets magical runs because he's not old enough to realize that body parts are supposed to hurt....hope the hip gets back to doin the hippy-hippy-shake tomwhite

8 miles on tap for this evening, and I too will finish up about dark-thirty...I think I need to add a new headlamp to my xmas wishlist.

that diamond lake relay scenery looks beautiful. TripleJ.......we'll have to recruit folks for http://www.blueridgerelay.com one of these years and give them a taste of our scenery. Maybe some people that don't get into the hood to coast might opt to come east.

Good morning all, three easy miles for me - makes me happy cause a couple/three months ago, three miles was a big accomplishment. Tomorrow am scheduled for five.

Hi Karl!
Steve, it's 10:17 now... and the sun is coming up. Nice long twilight though. Sun will be setting around 2:30 I think, but again we have long twilight in evening too. Not like Hawaii where it gets dark right after the sun goes down.
But hey, just three more weeks and we'll start gaining daylight, Yeah!
It'll be almost summer, right??

Hi Erika!!

Just back from 8.36 miles in 1:07:40, average pace 8:06. Splits were
7:54 / 7:47 / 8:30 / 8:47 /
8:46 / 8:22 / 7:35 / 7:31 / 6:44 (short lap).

Can you tell I got the Garmin working? The middle miles were on a trail with 1-2 inches hard snow. You can tell.
