Doodley for me too today. Still not feeling great; tummy is better but not quite right yet. I'm sure that I'll be fine by tomorrow, though, and I hope to run a few miles.

Knock, Knock!

Who's there?

Econo.

Econo who?

Econo run a Marathon without training for it!

(Sorry! Bad one ...)

Happiness is getting caught in the rain while running with friends. 6 easy, refreshingly wet miles at 9:20 pace - the last 4 miles at sub 9.

10mi with 4x1mi (1/2mi jog recovery). 6:15 avg on the miles. too much jiggling and not enough rippling.

on the 2mi cool down a guy came up from behind. i said good morning... nothing. i looked right at him, said hello. he mumbled "hi". i stopped jogging, picked up the pace, and made him suffer for 1/2 mi, then i dropped him. impolite people don't pass me, dammit.

Nice miles MC :¬)

Today is a story of rain and more rain so 90 mins on the bike hard but not silly with some hill work. Lunchtime is supposed to be Tempo or kms but I am a little tired from Sundays sessions so just went for a mildly progressive 5.5 miles. I have about 3 more heavy weeks of training before 2 weeks of basically taper and recovery.

Yikes, a woman was murdered on one of my trails Sunday. Police caught the guy driving around with her body in the passenger seat of his truck, he was keeping her because he was having sex with her corpse. The are investigating a few other mysterious disappearances in our area and are hoping this guy is somehow connected. Creepy fellow.... He has been driving around with a full sized chest freezer in the bed of his truck. One of my coworkers is his neighbor and they said he plugs the freezer in every night, but never unloads it or takes the padlocks off.

On a brighter note, 5 easy miles with my beginner runners group. They rock!

Dove, someone told me to get a small size of wasp spray - it shoots really far and can blind people. You can buy it almost anywhere and it's perfectly legal. You might want to consider that. When we hiked in Alaska about 3 years ago, a lot of people carry that instead of bear spray because it shoots so far that you don't need to be close for it to be effective. Not a bad idea!

That's pretty high bail but after reading the article a couple of times I can't tell if his dad bailed him out or not. Typically you can pay a bondsman 10-15% of the amount to get someone out. There's got to be a safer area somewhere other than that trail.

I'm really sorry about that Dove. What an invasion. What a whack.

I ran the same intervals workout today that I ran Sunday night, except that my duty was to pace my co-worker, whom I'm training for a half-marathon in October. This should have been an easy nigh recovery workout for me, but I could barely pace her. Example - I did my 3/4 mile HM Pace Intervals on Sunday night at 7:15 mile pace. Needed to do 9:40 mile pace today, and finished about 8 seconds slow. I ran 3:16 and 3:21 800's on Sunday, and only needed to do 4:30's today - managed to get the second one in 4:30 after being 3 seconds slow on the first one.

Total of 5.125 miles including warm up and cool down.

Stretched for 15:00 this morning when I woke up, and did 30 minutes of stretching and core after work this afternoon.

I really don't know what else to say Dove other than I'm glad the victim wasn't you, and I'm relieved that you're planning on taking special precautions. And I am angry your trails are being taken from you.

I forgot when I scheduled my run today that I have a dental cleaning appointment this afternoon. So it may be a RAD for me this evening.
