Morning once again

I never got a run in yesterday. We scouted for a few miles, killed a few squirrels, seen some deer, turkeys, and some ducks. I was kinda pooped when we got home, and it allready was getting hot. I think yesterday was the hottest day we've had in the past 2 weeks.

In between in-law BBQs Me, JD, our wives and another couple went up to the softball fields to hit some balls. I knew this was gonna kill me... now my back feels like hamburger meat!! Its crazy how many muscles you have that you don't use much.. We had a good time though.

I am gonna try to get in about 7 easy ones this morning.

I had to shift my running schedule for the week a bit so I ended up doing 8.1x with an average pace of 9:48. BUT I didn't walk at all so I was happy for that. Still DARK and HUMID on my runs!

I saw an oppussum (sp?) on my run this morning. Ugly little thing.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning BBS and FB.

I got out for a recovery run this morning. Not sure of the mileage yet, I have stopped wearing my Garmin for a week now. I ran for about 55 minutes.

Can't really lift my arm's after this morning workout. I think at practice we're doing hill loops again. Looking forward to an easy day tomorrow already.

Still enjoying non-full weeks of school...had 2 days last week, and 4 this week. I'm really easing into the semester. :D

Good morning all.

BBS sounds like a busy day indeed yesterday -- enjoy the run this morning.

FB -- yeah those things are pretty ugly -- had a (very) close encounter with one on the trails once -- scared me to death...

Jill nice recovery -- great job at the Labor Pain Ultra --- I will definitely strongly consider doing it next year...

Alex good luck with the hill workout.

I did 10 miles on the canal path. getting warmer again, but still was a great morning for a run.

Good day everyone. Life has been busy lately and just not enough time to post on all of the forums. It should slow down a little bit now; hopefully.

BBS - Have a good run today.

FB - Nice job out there this morning.

Jill - Sometime it is good to go without the Garmin. i just can't do it unless I am forced too!

Alex - You have to love that kind of pain!

Me - Nice and slow recovery run today. 3.2 miles at a 10 min + pace.

I had a great day of racing Sunday. It was perfect weather, sunny, lo 48, and high of 82 and water temperature was 73. I will try and get a race report of in the next couple of days.

Short and sweet results!

1.2 mile swim - 26:13 - 26 of 161

56 mile bike - 2:48:39 - 25 of 161

13.1 mile run - 1:47:16 - 24 of 161

24 of 161 overall finish and 3rd in AG

5:05:36 total time. A PR for me by about 5 minutes and my previous PR was on a flat course. This course is advertised as the toughest course in the SouthEast region. And they were not kidding, those hills were brutal.

Happy training everyone.

Loopy- nice avatar

Dave- congrats again on the race

I got my 7 in. Avg an easy 8:38 pace, finishing just as the sun was comming up. Run went well, my butt and back started letting me know about that softball bout yesterday in the last mile, but my quads felt great. Looking forward to a nice week of running.

FB- Nice run!

Jill- I should start running without the garmin once in awhile, too.

Dave- Very impressive race!

Me - up earlyish for an abs workout. I'll slip in a run during naptime today. Yesterday's legs and back workout was killer, and now my butt hurts. Ha.

Congrats to Jill, RA, Chances and Dave on the L-day weekend races (and anyone I left out), pretty impressive results all around!

I ran a mile race with my kids yesterday, pacing my 8 year old who was coughing and probably shouldn't have been out there, but wanted to go. About 1/3 of the way in, he screamed 'I regret this!' and proceeded to walk/run/complain the rest of the way :) Nothing else for me yesterday o/t some backyard baseball. Today was about 10 early with the group, with a couple of random pickups thrown in.

Nice monring runs/ab workouts, all!

BBS--too funny about the softball. Bunch of years ago hubby and his brothers played and came home looking all sorry for themselves. We just sat there laughing at them!

FB--yah, possums are nasty little critters.

Jill--55mins is a recovery run?!

Alex--son1 starts on a Wednesday. How weird is that?!

loopy--steady as always. Love the new avatar!

jebba--enjoy the run later.

BEAUTIFUL morning for a run. Bright and sunny, yet the air has the edge of crisp. My pastor likened it to a Granny Smith apple. It fits! Legs a bit tight this morning so planned for only 6. But, the legs had a mind of their own and I ended up on my long 8.5m route. Entire run felt very good. Finally mastering those rollers. Planned steady, but data shows it was a progressive-- OB 3.07, 28:22, 9:15pace, loop 2.53m, 22:32, 8:55pace, IB 3.08m, 27:19, 8:53pace.

Back home I had planned for a cup of coffee and getting on with the day. The hound saw that I was back from a run and in his mind that can only mean one thing--WALKIES!!! He started peeling out on the linolium, then crashing into the front door, peeling out again, and jumping up on me. Okay, okay, you win... 2.5m CD walk with the hound.

Good morning everyone. It seems like it has already been a busy day for everyone. Some very nice runs done early this morning. I got in 5 miles in 43:26(8:41). It was a bit chilly out this morning and I hope it warms up a bit in the morning for the rest of September and then October can start to get colder in the morning.

Dave- Nice job on the race.

It was a great morning for a run. Unfortunately, I failed miserably in my attempts to get out of bed. I have my kit so may do something at lunch. A few aches from yesterday's race plus the lingering effects of my Fastwitch 4s blistering up the outside of my big toes. Fun.

4boysmon - Nice run. Was the hound was peeing or peeling?

zrun - nice job with the 10 this morning. I hope to be doing that tomorrow.

Dan - rest up

Jebba - I heard that P90X kicks your butt. Sounds like it was literal. Hope you get in that run.

BBS - Nice run. Another sore butt on the board? Sounds like you were trying too hard with the bat yesterday

Dave - Awesome HIM time! That is a seriously fast 1.2 mile swim! DW is a speedster and did it in 36 mins

Loopy - I had to do a double take with the new avatar. Good job on the popular distance

Alex - Bulking up for the girls? Enjoy the hills.

Jill - nice recovery

FB - Dark and humid... sounds great! The only good (o)possum is a dead (o)possum.

Just recieved an email that the swim course was shortened due to the fog. They didn't tell us how much shorter. I thought my time was a little fast. I was expecting near 30, but not 26.

Morning all, back to work for me...both job and running.

Still trying to figure out why Sunday's long run went so badly. But time to move on I guess. 8 mile progression run on tap today. I have a bag packed for a workday run so I may do it this afternoon, if not then this evening for sure.

BBS - is that hamburger meat your back feels like - or squirrel meat?

Jill - got your report up in the background still need to read it (now, if I can just get some of this work stuff pushed aside). 55 min is quite a recovery run. You've got the the mojo right now for sure.

Alex - breakdown weight workouts and hills...way to "ease" in to the semester.

loopy - back to knocking down big runs. Nice avatar too.

Dave - I'm no tri expert but those times look pretty good to me anyway!

zrun - nice job on the morning 10

jebba - enjoy the midday run

kevin - nice 5er

Dan - enjoy the rest day

FB - with or without the "o" possums just kinda look like rats. :p

4bm - nice run and always smart to listen to the boss (hound).

RA - OK, sounds like we need to hold each accountable today. Check back later...

And no one is gonna say anything about my Broncos beating VA Tech last night? No love? :)

Exhausted after the game. Running on four hours' sleep and some coffee cake. Off to the track for some 800s here in a bit.

Must flyby for now. Good ones, all.

It was all anyone talked about around here. Lots of dejected Hokies fans...

FWIW, I don't watch college football because of the sham known as the BCS. But since Boise St. are the ultimate BCS-busters I will root for them this year.

And Jill, I finally read your report. What a day and what a run (4 of them actually)!

Oof. Soreness remained as I got on the 'mill for my run. I ran 1.5 miles and then walked another 2.5 for 4 total.
