Good morning all.

A good start to the morning with a nice 10K run. It felt good and I think the legs are ready to get back into training. I will probably take the rest of this week easy before starting to train for a marathon in November.

Happy training everyone.

Thought about doing a swim today, then decided I didnt' wanna deal with the crazy lady at the gym. Might go for a spin later. Busy day ahead with cleaning, laundry, mowing the lawn and grocery shopping. Plus a bunch of phone calls to make.

Thinking ahead to tomorrow's long run. Trying to decide between routes. Neighborhood route, which would be 4 longs and 2 shorts. However, when I "ran" this route last week, it went very poorly. Not sure if I'll ahve a mental thing going on or not. Other option is the metro park, where I have almost a perfect record. However, that would be 21 or 22 laps. Thoughts???

Son1 had a blast at the team get together yeserday. The big boys went out to play. He said he got dropped on the bike. The last couple miles they were hammering at 30mph, then just dropped the hammer. He just couldn't hold on. And then there was a run to do... He wasn't sure what he wanted to do next season, if he really wanted to focus on triathlon or not. After yesterday, he's thinking he'd like to train with these guys and give it another season.

Dave- A marathon must seem easy now after the Ironman

Mom- Maybe a new route?? ever been to this site? http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/

I hate to say it, but its 57* outside and I'm looking at an URD. Legs just aren't right. Calves and quads sore possibly from over training. Half Marathon training starts next week, so I'd rather rest up this week in the cool temps than botch my runs next week. Not to mention I have a pretty tough 11 mile 'race' in Chattanooga on Oct 1st. I'm not gonna 'race' it, but I want to be in good shape to have a decent time.

Mornin' BBS & 4bm. Dave, make sure you get that recovery in.

Quick check-in then meetings. Packed a bag for a run at work. May or may not get to do it but I figured if I at least made a bag up the chances were closer to 50% as opposed to 0%. Not sure of the distance. I'd like to go 9 but may scale it back a bit.

Got out for 10 miles. 55F and breezy. Felt nice. Used the headlamp early on. Not sure what the deal is but my right big toe really hurts. Started during the 14 on Sunday. I think maybe from the groiners & froggers (modified stair climbers) at CrossFit. Just what I need with a HM coming up.

Dave - be sensible with the post Ironman recovery.

BBS - bummer. Rest up.

4boysmom - busy day, huh?! If in doubt go with what you know. Then scout out a new route for next time.

kfuller - nice job on the 5'er.

Hello. Forgot to check in yesterday. It was a glorious cloudy and 67* when I ran yesterday, and did a very comfortable 10 miles. Today was back to the Y for seven. I've been having some pain my ankle ever since family zumba on Sunday, although I'd bet it is from the long run on saturday. It doesn't hurt to walk or run on a flat surface, but hurts when I my ankle makes any kind of lateral movement. I think it's a tendon of some sort. Bah!

Dave: you seem back in it pretty quickly. Way to go!

BBS: which half?

4boys: Monotony doesn't bother me that much, so I'd go with the loops. In fact, I'm thinking about doing the full marathon in the prison this fall. It's 78 laps around the exercise yard.

kfuller: nice 5

cmj: you've inspired me to always have a workout bag in my car. It often doesn't get used, but when I have the opportunity, I am so glad to have it.

RA: toe hurting is my first sign my shoes are kaput. I hope yours feels better soon.

6.84 miles (sshhh, don't tell Chances) on the treadmill today. Easy pace but varied inclines, up to 8%. Felt good. Best feeling run yet.

Yep - likely from my Saucony Fastwitch 4s that have 600 mile on them... ran to CF, did CF and ran home in them on Saturday. A workout too far...

Doing that on a TM is nothing short of heinous. OK, I've done it but only due to the 1 hour limit on the gym TMs.
