Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Beautiful warm morning here in New England. Probably a little too humid for most, but for me... I love this stuff! Cold weather will be here for duration shortly.

Me...

11.5 mile run early this morning with equal parts speed and social:

o WU - 45 min social run in complete darkness

o 4 x 1+ miles w/.3 mile jog

o CD - 10 min back to car

*Splits: 6:52, 6:44, 6:48, 6:49 -- splits 1 & 3 and 2 & 4 were identical.

**Speed was pretty good even though it was a cross between tempo and speed (will not chance proper speed due to hammy). Didn't exactly feel all that smooth, and at times I felt jagged, but I'll take it considering these times were solid compared with previous weeks and the fact that I didn't slow down (hard because speed is done on a very gradual up hill).

Great day, y'all!

65 minutes on the bike this a.m. 60 minute elliptical at lunch today too. Strength work tonight. My trainer is back from maternity leave. I cannot wait to see her tonight when I get home. My butt needs some kicking.)

Yo: Take care of you. Healing thoughts coming your way.

Took a day off yesterday...body needed it. Today...did 4m on the treadmill this morning. We are dog-sitting for my sister right now, so I had an audience - apparently the pooch found my running in place interesting.

50 mile ride - pretty slow (hi 16s) due to many hills, much map consultation (new route), and recovery from the double century weekend. Great fall smells (concord gapes again, hay, apple orchards). Will be a nice ride to do over with a camera in a couple of weeks - leafy roads and farms.

Closing in on 3900 miles for the year ...

These meds do weird thing to me, I feel hot, bloated, puffy, foggy, headache, just doesn't feel right. My pinky toe is getting better so I am thinking to go for a quick run or stationary bike or something. My pants are getting tight by the minute. Totally dislike.

Yosh - cut it out. Keep your butt planted. No running. Give it a chance. Maybe a light spin would be ok...

Me, forced rest due to work and rain. Supposed to be Mtb time but rain has the trails closed. Road bike is disabled due to glass from race. And I forgot about my cross bike...oops

Agreed. Your pants are NOT getting tighter by the minute. Relax and let that toe heal - it will be worth it.

Nice workouts.

Ran most of the Xterra HM course at Cheyenne Mountain State Park with a friend who has done this race before and knew the route on the maze of trails. Kept a slow pace for much of the run, but when he started getting tired he told me to go ahead. I would get several minutes ahead then wait when trails intersected so he could point the way. It was nice running with someone on these remote trails.

A couple hours after getting home I got a call asking if I could play as a substitute on a softball team with a bunch of guys I work with. Played decently considering the long run earlier in the day and not having played in about 7 years. I was 2 for 3 including a triple and the team won its first game of the year. Fun times.

Warm.upper 70s - Mostly sunny and calm. Ran most of the Xterra HM course at Cheyenne Mountain State Park with Carl. Kept an easy pace and had to wait a few times for Carl to direct me through the maze of trails when I came to intersections. Almost all of it is singletrack and features some very steep climbs and descents.

I did a 1:20 ride on the computrainer. Did the first x (don't remember) miles of the IMLP course.. man, those hills didn't seem so hard in person, and I missed the cruising down the big hill and holding on for my life going 40+but hey, it WAS supposed to be a workout.

no, because out was an uphill, plus I started from the driveway and finished by the front walk - those two points are about 200 feet apart since we're on a corner.

I actually timed my turnaround point perfectly. I'm rather proud of that.
