Tuesday RUN day, easy 2-3mi on the docket today after work. It would appear that I have a trail 10k on Saturday, neat-o.

Good morning, TEAM LIT!

5.65 mile run early this morning with Andyman. The Diesel blew us off. Chilly. Even wore gloves.

18-20 (?) mile ride early this morning in 56 minutes with a good buddy (the Warden's Husband). Did a few pickups of 4 minutes on, maybe 3 or 4 in total. It was like clearing out the cyclinders, as I haven't done those in a very long time. Felt good. But damn, I was slow, which is to be expected considering the minimal riding I've done. Cold morning.

Great day, peeps!

Trust me, fall is HERE! Only in the 50's in the morning. Perfect for a run, not so much for a tri, esp when the water temp was only in the low 70's!

6.2m recovery run. Meh...

40.6 degress here north of Boston at 5:30 AM. 6:30 AM is was about the same. By 8:00 AM, however, it was probably into the upper 50's.

From the forecast, it looks like summer is coming back to New England with highs in the upper 80s by Friday.

I have been incredibly sore the past two days but feeling much better today. I can actually walk almost normal. I am going to try a short comfortable run after work with the hopes that will loosen things up a bit.

Nice workouts, all!

Still summer here, it was pushing high 90s yesterday and today will be mid-90s. I am ready for fall to get here.

Summer is not over until we say it is. It's suppose to be 80 here tomorrow of course then back to the 70's then back to the 80's. And it will be chilly every morning.

Speaking of chilly, it was a chilly early 4.5 mile run from the Y this morning. Other 2 runners had long sleeves on but I held out. Good run. Have a great day.

We barely even had a summer out here in the northwest, so a week or two of 80-degree weather would be very welcome. Unfortunately, we get instead an endless string of rainy/cloudy/sunny/foggy/mid-70's days. Oh well.

Just a bike commute home for me today, though I may toss in a short swim later this evening - they will be closing the outdoor pool at the end of the week, so I need to enjoy it while I can.

Yesterday's ride home was a little interesting. I started out at a pretty moderate pace, but each time I came to a key stoplight (the ones that typically take a long time to change) it was green. Since I time my commute rides by actual time, not pedal time, I knew that each green light improved my chances of a record-breaking ride. So with each green light, I increased the tempo. There are about ten key stoplights or so (of maybe 30+ total), so by the end I was really rockin. Finished with jell-o legs and a 2-minute PR for a route I've done roughly 125 times. Left hamstring isn't so happy now, though, so tonight's ride will probably be at recovery pace.

Good afternoon friends. I will have to work late tonight so I took off this morning and enjoyed a fun spin class with DH. The music was rockin and my quads are pretty trashed now. But I forgot to bring my toiletries in the gym bag, so I was left without shampoo, deodorant, etc. I had to use the gym's body soap to wash my hair, yuck, so now it's looking a little bizarre. But since I'm the boss of the library, no one's saying anything although I spotted a few raised eyebrows.

It was 44 degrees here this morning! A lovely 72 right now (12:30ish), and then the temp is supposed to climb for the rest of the week. I love the warm weather so I'm thrilled.

Enjoy your day everyone and have a great workout.

Very interesting article today in the NYT regarding a woman's first cycling race: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/21/health/nutrition/21best.html?nl=health&emc=healthupdateema2

Quick post....very busy:

AM: 3,600m in the pool, swimming that is: 500m wu, 4 x 100 drills, 5 x 400 @45sec, 8 x 50 drills, 300m cd.

I felt so good in the water, things are starting to click more on a regular basis when I am swimming. My last 400 was 7:49 (a good 10 - 15 sec faster than my first four), finished strong.

PM: Meeting all day means I am going to have to run at home tonight. 1.25 hours on tap, might have to do it when the girls go to bed.

Have a great day everyone!

I wish it felt like fall here too. Don't get me wrong, it has been only in the upper 80s the past few days because of the clouds, BUT it's HUMID! I'm ready for that first cool front that being the crisp, dry, cool air. I LOVE those days! We're still waiting for that down here in Texas. I'll take 80s in Sept. any day, though. It will be back up in the 90s once the clouds disappear.

1600m OW wetsuit swim today. I swam in the cool water of Barton Springs (68 degrees). It felt so good, but I have to admit I was a bit warm in the wetsuit. My arms weren't warm (it's sleeveless), but my legs were toasty!

I might get in a short run this evening if it doesn't decide to storm. I can't pass up this cooler weather!

Only 3.5 miles or so running early in the morning. My body must have been in a really exhausted condition. My legs are still not feeling light after some days of easy workout. Oh well.

Lots of driving in the middle of harvest corn fields. Amazing to be able to see horizon for that long straight.

4 miles this morning....

still dead legged from the ride this weekend, and the aborted LONG run on Sunday, that turned into a medium run.

Then, met with Lisa for some TRX weights, and dishing about one of THOSE work situations.

Of course, it's easy to do timed planks when you're pissed, and the time FLIES.
