Nice early morning run along the watery world of Dublin. Out along the Grand Canal for a mile five, then meet up with HP and a turn around back along the canal and over the Liffey before a run around the quays, then back up the canal, drop Mike off, and run back home. All in all, around 8 miles for me at a shade under 9 minute pace. Mike is running Berlin on Sunday so a gentle, leg-turner, for him, and a nice easy run for me.

Just so the Gods could confirm that this was a Water run, the heavens decided to open and soak us at around Mile 6, somebody up there has a sense of perspective

Have fun everyone when you get up

Haha...glad you had a good run HP and Liam. Wish I knew someone from here who I could go for runs with...

Well pretty important race tonight, pretty much a preview of our conference course and competition so I hope to do well. May get back a bit later being the distance away from here so my report may take a day.

Have a great day everyone.
Hi guys... best of luck tonight Alex!

Ran in to work today, going to do that twice this week. Somewhere between 7.25 and 7.3 miles in 1:10:50. That was a very easy pace a few months ago, but I felt it today. Guess I'm beginning to make some progress in getting back to where I was, but it is a slow road.
I got out for a six mile recovery run this morning on the nearby golf course. The fairways felt soft and were nice on the joints.
Sounds like a nice run Liam. I enjoy rain running - well, not the cold rain, but a warmer spring/fall rain is nice. I did 4 miles last night after work and will do 3 during my lunch hour today.
Have a great race tonight Alex.

Lufcaudio I was done in Columbia this week end with DD Running along the MKT. It was nice. I'll be done for the half in two weeks are you runiing it?

The weather here in KC broke today it's61 and misty. I'm really looking forward to a lunchtime run. I love the fall like weather.
I will definitely be running in the half-marathon on the 7th. I used to do a lot of my training on the MKT, but now tend to stick to the roads. If you see me at the race, don't be afraid to say "hello." I'll be looking much like I do in the picture on my running profile (see below).
Liam, doesn't it always rain there anyway?

Good luck tonight Alex!

4.1 mile recovery run with 6x100 (Pfitz is weird, I don't ask, I just do). Total time 35:07 (8:34/mi).

I had to move this weeks' workouts all around because it's ridiculously hot here for the next few days. There was no way I was going to attempt 8 with 5x600 on the hot track when it's 80+ degrees and not a cloud in the sky after having run in 39.7 degree temps just one week ago. Should be ok, it's taper anyway.
Brett I'll be looking for you at the race. Based on your PRs you'll be seeing a lot of my Daughter during the race and not a lot of me.

That's us this past weekend.

6.3 miles at lunch for a 9:22 pace. This is the best run I've had since my July restart. 61 and mist encouraged me to open up a little.

Peace and good runs
That picture is pretty small. It looks like you made it to the Mizzou-Illinois State game. Go Tigers!

MERRIMACK RIVER TRAIL

Today was supposed to be a 6 mile recovery run. I decided to do the run on the trail, but it was hardly a recovery run.

The legs felt frisky, so I let them stretch it out a little bit, and they seemed to appreciate it.

The trail reminded me a lot of the Equinox trail in that the trail is covered with yellow leaves right now. Of course, the Equinox trail is not 85 degrees right now!

Run Segments
Cross-training day today. I taught yoga, took pilates class, and did an hour on the elliptical. This new gym I'm working at has TVs on each cardio machine so I watched Oprah and "Seinfeld" to pass the time.
9.5 miles this morning in the usual humidity and warmth. It was an ok run. Nothing special to report.
Dang...sorry to report nothing spectacular. I was sore all over and definitely not very pumped for tonight. 800 split - 2:45, mile 5:36, 5k - 18:13. I was hoping for a PR today but I guess I should've not expected one being my last race was only 5 days ago. Thankfully we got a week until our next one.
6 miles in 51:19. Felt sluggish starting out, but I loosened up for the most part. Right leg kind of stayed tired, but I'm not surprised since my chiro worked that leg on Monday. Pace felt good. Beautiful late afternoon.
