Good morning, BBS. Enjoy those intervals.

Me -- Up very early again. Both achilles are barking hard. I think I'll take today off. First total rest day in months.

Good luck with the 800s BBS.

Rest up Chances.

Nice run in the dark FB.

Another wet, cold morning here -- did 10 miles on the mountain roads. Not quite as cold or wet as Yesterday, so not all that bad. still, looking forward to a dry run for a change (though looks like I may have to wait until Thursday).

I think it was colder here today than Sunday but I didn't feel as cold, maybe I just needed a run to get used to it. 7 miles total, including 5k on the track in 23:25 (7:32 pace) aiming for MP and was consistent, but felt a bit faster than MP. HRM wasn't picking up at all, I am thinking might need a new battery. Still felt something going on in the hamstring but not too much.

BBS - treadmill intervals and hunting, there's something you don't see together that often. Reminds me, they just had the national championship for Big Buck Hunter here in Chicago last weekend.

Chances - rest up those achilles!

FB - nice getting out in the dark, my warmup on the trail was pretty spooky this morning with how dark it was and seeing my breath.

Loopy - good to see all is right with the world and you are back to 10s

Have a good one, folks.

Good morning everyone.

BBS - Have a great workout on the TM.

Chances - Well deserved rest day.

FB - Great run.

Loopy - Nice 10 miler, hopefully it will dry out for you soon.

Me - 30 mile group bike ride this morning. It was kind of cold this morning at 47 for the bike ride. But I was dressed just right, so it worked out great.

Good morning. Got in 5 miles in 45:17(9:03). Like chances I have barking body parts today. I think I will just take it easy for the rest of the day. Nice job on all the biking, swimming and running.

Ran my 10k route and decided to do 2 miles @ m-pace rather than at the track tomorrow night. 40F and 95% humidity. What's up with that? Anyway, my pacing was horrific. It seems I will be running the marathon at a pace between 6:30mpm and 7:30mpm. Averaged to 7:10s but it felt a lot harder. Hopefully I'll do better with 24.2 more. Not feeling too confident right now...

kfuller & Chances - hopefully the barking fades to a whimper today.

4boysmom - nice fishbowling

Dave - nice job on the cool ride.

zrun - sounds like your m-pace run went better than mine.

Loopy - good job toughing out the crappy conditions of late.

FB - I recommend running forwards with your eyes open.

BBS - how about chasing some animals for those intervals? Get JD to video it for us.

Brrr ... it's cold and rainy here. I do not want to go outside and run. Yuck. Will today be the day that I break my "no treadmill running" streak? We shall see.

RA, I always think we need to get that bad run in and out of the way to make room for the great run. You know, just as I, that a bad run is undoubtedly followed by a streak of good days. You'll do just fine.

Great job with those runs and bikes and swims today.

And take care of those barking aches.

Morning all,

It's a little chilly here but at least the rain is gone - for now. It may come back later today. Low 50s temps at the moment. If I had been more on the ball this morning I might have gotten out in the dark & mid-40s but it wasn't meant to be. So I'm packed for a midday run, which hopefully I can squeeze in between meetings and other sundry work tasks. I'm thinking about 7-8 with some tempo in there somewhere -- maybe 2 x 15:00? If it doesn't get done this afternoon, it will have to be this evening.

Only 33 days until NYC, 26 until Marine Corps 10k (final tuneup). So while it's showtime for Chances, RA and Z this Sunday, I'm not far behind on the curve. Oh boy...

BBS - good luck with those 800s...hopefully nobody's watching from a tree stand.

Chances - rest those achilles, just a warning sign to not blow it during taper.

FB - good job switching it up a bit and getting the run in

loopy - nothing stops you, nice 10er

zrun - nice run but see comment to chances above, re: hammy.

Dave - 47 on a bike. brrrrr...I rode 30 once last winter when it was 34. I don't think I've ever felt so cold after a workout.

4bm - nice job in the fisbhowl

kevin - way to get the 5er in despite the barking inside

RA - pre-race anxiety most likely. You'll be fine I think.

That reminds me I need to set up my runner tracking for Sunday. I'll be at a soccer game while the race is going on but when I'm off the field no doubt I'll be checking for updates.

Hawk - I can normally do pretty well down to about 30 - 35* on the bike before it is no longer fun. My problem is I just don't have the gear to ride in weather any colder. today I only had on 2 layers on my upper body and shorts with toe covers over the shoes.

Jill - Great race report. Thanks for sharing. Congrats on a great race, your splits were pretty impressive. You will rock that marathon in a few weeks.

I am proud to say, the treadmill did not win today! After a little self-talking to (went something like, "you never know what you're going to get on race day so you better just suck it up and get out there you freaking sissy!") I ran 10 soggy miles in the Parkway. The rain started to come down harder around mile 7 and I had to kick it back to the car. I don't even have time for a hot shower, gotta go pick up my preschooler.

Wow long workout today. W/u to the park, 1 short loop with our coach, then back to the schedule-2 long loops, and 2 more short loops...hammered the last one. Then back to campus for 2x1k around the intermural fields. First one at goal 8k pace, 2nd one 10secs faster. Then over to the track for 4x300. Finished with 4 striders and a c/d. 91mins total.
