Good morning, TEAM LIT!!!

Yesterday was my birthday -- oh how I love my birthday! -- turned a whopping 42 years of age. I freak'n love it! And thank you to all the birthday wishes here and on FB and e-mail. Y'all are amazing friends and really know how to put a smile on someone's face. I had a pep in my step all damn day yesterday, and it was because of you, and mind that I did an ultra the day before! Thank you!

Weekend recap...

Saturday: 4 mile gentle jog. Maybe 3.5 miles. Who knows.

Sunday: Rhode Island 6 Hour Ultra - Was a 6 hour timed event. I ran 38 miles with an average pace of 8:45 in 5:31 time. Ran out of time to complete another lap, sort of. I probably could have slugged out another lap but, well, I was cooked and, after the 5 hour mark, was no longer having any fun, and since this was for me a birthday celebration run doing what I love to do, and since I had no intentions of racing nor was my mindset there, when it got stupid hard, I caved in. Which was stupid in the end because I could have leap frogged in the overall standings the 3rd male overall to take home more money. More money is right. Because I *did* take home cash. The race was also the USATF New England Ultrarunning Championship. I took 2nd Master and some cash. I had been in top-3 Male overall until that last lap. I could have walked and taken 3rd in USATF standings of overall for a double-dip cash prize. But that is all hindsight. I didn't know I was that close and even in the lead for money. Had I known I would have sucked it up another 25 minutes. But you know what? I was a GREAT birthday!!!

Monday: 1.5 mile keep-the-streak-alive run.

Tuesday: 3.5 to 4 mile run early this morning. Body feels AWESOME considering the ultra.

Great day, y'all, and thank you for all the bday wishes!
