Welcome to November!

Don: Curious on your response to Sparty about sunglasses? I can't wear sunglasses on trails. The variation from sunny to shady will get me every time. Even the lighter tints effect me. But my eyes are on the sensitive side. My last marathon I ran was on half paved and mostly shaded bike path and half road, and even with the smooth surface I didn't use shades.

5.65 mile typical Tuesday run with two others early this morning. Buddy hit a dear in his car on the way home. He's okay. Dear took off. Dark and cold this morning.

Good afternoon all!! Ended up taking yesterday off in lieu of pumpkin carving and costume mending. A fun Halloween was had by all. Today...40 min tempo run on the TM. Felt pretty good all in all. Probably well fueled from a few too many mini candy bars yesterday. :)

have not been posting over the last couple of weeks as I am dealing with results of another reduction in force in which I have been the reduction. But working out is a great distraction. Two runs today. 5:15am for a chilly and dark 6 miles. Still parts of the route have power outages so I had an encounter with a fallen tree that I did not see. No harm so no foul. Then did a lunch time lake run which was a little warmer and the visability was much better.

Basic daily run after work. Ribs still hurting and kinda tired today.

Yes, I do wear sunglasses. I suppose that could have been part of the problem. It's just that I wear sunglasses on all my runs except when it's dark and I rarely have any issues. The footing on these trails is pretty nasty in places and lots of people fall. A friend fell twice. The RD even mentioned it in the pre-race talk. I should get a pic to show you what we race on.
