Although I see that I am one of 4 viewing our group, no one is starting a thread. So... I'll jump in!

First -- HELLOOOOO!!! I jumped in this morning and read through yesterday's fun thread. I'll take a minute to catch up on some more after I write this.

Missy - Love the pics!!! She's so beautiful!

Beaker - love, love, LOVE the neighborhood justice you and the parents handed down. Good for you!!!

Second - Went to the Flyers home opener last night. It was super fun. They revealed the banner from last year's conference victory, then went on to beat Colorado 4-2. It was great. Only downside -- the complete asshattery behind us. Collection of 5 or 6 DBs sitting right behind us who would not. shut. up. And they mostly weren't even talking hockey. And when they did, they were just idiots.

One of them spilled a bunch of beer on me at one point. I was . . . unhappy. And expressed my displeasure.

Despite the distractions, we had a blast.

That's enough for now. I'll be back.

Best quote of the night, per Gov. "You know, coming to a game is really awesome, but there are far fewer douchebags in our living room." I nearly choked on my popcorn!

Mornin'!

Lori I'm glad those kids were made to fess up! Might not have seemed all that significant to do what they were doing, at the time. But they'll know now!

Missy, LOVE the girlie pics! She's adorable!

We had a nice Thanksgiving weekend. I made a turkey dinner, only the second time in my life I've ever done that. It turned out excellent. DH and I got to see a movie yesterday, too. The Town. Good one.

Oh, and the police arrested the woman who stole mom's purse yesterday and charged her with theft and fraud and all sorts of other things. Good.

DH's friend had a pumpkin in a contest at a fair over the weekend. We went to check it out. He won! 1280 lbs...now that's a big pumpkin! It broke the tailgate off his truck when they were taking it off to weigh it!

Battling fun threads, eh? Usually I go with whichever has the earliest time stamp, but both were started at 7:43am today. Doh. Guess I'll post here since the majority has done so.

Hope you're feeling better soon, Tim!

Clarebear - Yah for prosecuting the purse theif! That's gotta give some satisfaction!

Beakerbabe - Same with you! So happy that the brats' parents are getting involved and dishing out proper punishment.

Alley-Kate pics /lublublub em. She still has that old soul look, but a happy old soul!

My HS reunion is coming up this Sat. Not that a lot of people are attending (bummer), but I'm looking forward to it. Except that while my face has been mostly blemish free, it's choosing NOW to break out again as if I were still in high school. Damnit! Ahh well.. it'll still be fun. The annual Gold Rush festival will be going on in town too, and Sunday morning, I plan on getting up early, and running around (literally) in my old stomping grounds, while the festival is blocking traffic, and the streets are fairly quiet. Though it's going to be about 44 degrees that morning, and for this Georgia girl, that's pretty damn cold!

Good Morning everyone!

I love the idea of neighborhood justice! Hard for the mom to hear, I'm sure. But I'm impressed that she is trying to hold her son accountable - so many parents won't these days.

Glad to hear that Moe's dad and Pawpaw are doing better,. Allie Kate is sooooooo cute! Hi KJ! Hahahahahaha - Dave is funny!

Winter - I had some friends run the marathon this past weekend in Cumberland, and it made me think of you!

Fun? I'm sure there's some around here somewhere. DH is traveling this week (CA) and DDs birthday is tomorrow. We did our family party on Sunday, but her friend party is Friday after school. I scheduled it for then b/c I thought DH was flying home that morning. But no, he doesn't come back until Saturday afternoon. Plus football 2 nights, figure skating, tons of meetings at work....ack!

Here's a funny for you. Last night Lena was in the tub for her bath. She was talking about diamonds (she was playing with her princesses).

Me: I have a diamond in my ring, look.

Lena: Oooooooooooooh, that's beeeeeeeeeeeutiful!

Me: Daddy gave it to me.

Lena: For when you got married?

Me: Yep.

Lena: When I get bigger, daddy will marry me, too, and give me a diamond!

hee hee! Little people's brains work so funny!

Colleen, I love that there is a governing body for giant pumpkin contests!

howdy peeps. Back to work today.

I got home last night to a reasonably clean house and a very needy cat...and un souris mort in my kitchen cupboard.

I sent my landlord an obit for Mr Mouse to let him know he'd passed and that private arrangements had already taken place, but that he could pay his respects at the end of the driveway should he want to and that none of his kin had stepped forward yet to claim their stake.

I'm glad my landlord gets me...he responded "Mr Mouse must have lamented at your departure and in lamentation bravely stepped into another realm."

I love my landlords.

Dave, I went to a Sox game over the summer and there was a couple behind us that were probably on their first or second date...and were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO annoying, not watching the game at all and talking the whole time. Grrrrrrrr.

Ailarie, good for you for getting out there and going to your reunion!

Feel better Tim.

And wicked cute kid pics from RIL too - I loved the leaf pile one!

I got some good pics of DD at riding lessons yesterday. She got some new gear for her birthday and was all decked out. I am hoping to figure out where our camera cable is so I can upload them - that's half the battle!

Hi all - productivity was my fun yesterday. Oh yeah, watching the Giants creak their way into the NLCS. How they're in this position can be summed up by Cody Ross, who was asked how he made it onto the Giants (as a waiver pickup from the Marlins...done only so that the Padres couldn't pick him up): "I don't know and I don't care."

I'd smack talk a bit, but I know better - the Phils are dayum good this year. I'm hoping my team will at least extend the series a bit.

Hugs to ((((Amy, Timr and anyone else who needs 'em))))

Clare - congrats to the DH and nice pic of E! They had the annual contest here as well in Half Moon Bay - winning pumpkin was 1530+ lb, and that's supposedly not even close to the record weight for this event

Or maybe they can create a machine that can hoist that thing far afield (had absolutely no idea this thing was held in Delaware either...)

And that was a world record! There is a guy in our new town that competes in this stuff. He gave a presentation at the elementary school the other day and all of the kids came home with a seed from one of his super pumpkins.
