Track workout #2 of my entire life.

They look intimidating before I start, but

then I find that counting to 4 is actually not that bad. lol

I hit my times consistently, if a little quick.

I've GOT to learn to manage hydration better, though.

I think that may be what's killing me on the long runs.

I'm so afraid of running out of fluids that I conserve too much, especially in the beginning.

I'm going to have to pick better routes that have drug stores so that I can get more fluids if I need them....

especially on the days when I don't run with the running group and the catered water stops.

Looks like I'll miss my run again today, life is just too hectic. Should be able to hit my evening trainer session, though. Really trying to get 2 x 20 min at 19.0 mph on the trainer (234 Watts, for those who care) before racking up road miles, time trials, 5-minute intervals, commuting, etc. Kind of running out of time before race season.

This afternoon I have a moderate 1:20:00 ride over hill and dale. Then dinner. And then off to swim practice!

It's odd (for me) that I look forward (more) to my swim practices than I do my bike rides!

Oh, DH taped my ITB on my hip last night. Hmmm, no pain at all going up stairs or hills today. That's a step in the right direction!!!

Yep, I think something has happened. I'm seeing some huge changes though!!!!

Last week our main set was:

400 cruise then 2 x 50 sprint

300 cruise then 2 x 50 sprint

200 cruise then 2 x 50 sprint

100 cruise then 2 x 50 sprint

My first 50 was 6 seconds faster than the previous week and I managed to hold that through the workout!

It's really nice to see some progress.

Thanks Matt, Yosh, and Ron about the good word(s) on the race in yesterday's thread. Matt are you going to Nationals this year? I signed up, just wondering if I'll meet you, I know you've talked about wanting to qualify for Worlds

I had a 5am group ride. But sluggish so I let them go after about 40 minutes and did my own ride - 1:30

Ran 7.5 miles at noon easy run.

Gotta get consistent about posting here again. Sigh.

6.45 mi run with the peeps this morning. First two or so easy, then 2 at tempo, then easy. Tempo was somewhere around 5:53 min/mi or faster, the GPS was acting up.

Followed by a long ride, just under 109 miles in just under 6 hours. Wind at my back on the way out, in my face back in. Legs felt good, considering the load I've put on them in the last week. 160 to 180 watts seems to be my sweet spot for riding, when I hit 200 watts for any length of time I need to recover. 180 watts I can do all day.

Triple Day -

2300m swim durin lunch - 4x500m, trying to take it easy and not to gulp air too much. At the end, I still got quite bit of air in my system. :(

After work, 5miles while DS was attending some B.S. Seminar

Then, drove to Island Lake Rec area to ride. Total 2hrs:10min. Wasn't planning to ride that long but took a longer route on the second loop and also had a spectacular summersault on a deep sandpit during which my bike landed on me and I got stuck for eternity..... got it done before it got totally dark.
